Your Role Reporting to the Senior Director, Pricing, the Manager, Pricing supports the Firm’s revenues and profitability by facilitating pricing strategies and proposals through consultation and collaboration with the Firm’s internal stakeholders, financial analyses and modeling, budgeting, competitive research, project management and use of metrics.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist in the creation of the Firm’s overall pricing strategy, by implementing client-focused profitable pricing models, while laying the foundation for a value-based pricing framework
- Asses critical information with respect to the cost drivers by matter type in each practice area and build statistical models to predict the cost of a matter type
- Work with the Pricing Team and cross-functionally to define packages for different matter types and establish fixed prices for all package levels
- Develop fixed prices for all matter types by region upon synthesizing data on hours taken for matter types. Maintain and update fixed prices for all regions every year by conducting periodic pricing/profit audits to identify areas for improvement
- Manage the fixed price setting process for all practice areas upon reviewing updates to the algorithm and changes in the product/service value proposition. Set discount rates upon a competitive analysis of prices
- Support Partners and the Marketing Team as it pertains to pricing arrangements, preparation of RFP responses with respect to price and value
- Model the impact on contribution on proposed fee arrangements and run sensitivity analysis given changes to hours, leverage, realization, fixed price amounts, risk levels etc.
Required Knowledge And Experience
- University degree in Mathematics, Finance, Business, or related field; background in Data Analytics, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or IT is an asset.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in an analytical role, preferably within a professional services or legal environment.
- Proven expertise in pricing strategy, including alternative fee arrangements and costing of services.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with practical experience in statistical analysis and predictive modeling.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel (complex spreadsheets), SQL, Alteryx, and Power BI, with the ability to build financial models and data visualizations.
- Skilled in translating complex data into clear, actionable insights and presentations for senior stakeholders.
- Experience managing multiple projects in fast-paced environments, with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and with senior professionals.
- Familiarity with reporting systems such as SAP Business Objects, Elite, and CRM platforms; knowledge of the RFP lifecycle is an asset.
- Professional judgment and discretion in handling sensitive and strategic information.
- Bilingualism in English and French is a strong asset.
Pay Range $100,000 to $110,000. Pay range to be commensurate with experience.
