Role Description The Heating Air Conditioning Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Waterloo, ON. This role is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing residential heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, as well as related components. Day-to-day tasks include diagnosing system issues, performing troubleshooting, completing preventive maintenance, and ensuring all work complies with safety and regulatory requirements. The technician will respond to service calls, advise customers on system use and care, and document work performed. Collaboration with team members, punctuality, and clear communication with customers and colleagues are essential.

Qualifications

Strong troubleshooting skills for diagnosing and resolving HVAC system issues. Ability to perform preventive maintenance on heating and air conditioning equipment. Knowledge of electricity and safe electrical practices related to HVAC systems. Experience with plumbing tasks associated with HVAC installations and repairs. Understanding of EPA or equivalent environmental and refrigerant handling standards. Relevant trade certification or apprenticeship in HVAC or a closely related field. Familiarity with residential HVAC equipment, tools, and safety procedures. Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to customer locations within the service area. Effective communication skills and a customer-focused approach. Ability to work independently, manage time well, and adapt to varying job sites and conditions.
