Job description
We are looking for a Director, Media Planning to join and strengthen our growing team. The Director, Media Planning is both a management and agency leadership role. This individual may lead a planning group and be responsible for the overall supervision of assigned client business, as well as staff management and development. The role helps define the team's working style and is accountable for media planning operations and deliverables across assigned accounts and multiple media channels. The Director, Media Planning also provides strategic leadership and possesses a deep understanding of all aspects of their clients’ businesses.
Responsibilities
Own the overall management of assigned client business (both traditional and digital) throughout the strategic planning, media planning, and implementation process. Develop strong partnerships with all agency service line leaders to ensure effective team resource management and compliance with contractual agreements. Deliver best-in-class media planning, including innovative thinking and flawless execution. Lead the strategic media planning and execution process while mentoring and developing team members. Demonstrate the ability to leverage resources and insights to help guide clients’ marketing objectives in their respective markets (syndicated, proprietary, and analyst data sources). In collaboration with the network buying team, oversee and manage all media placements. Partner with agency leadership on the development and negotiation of annual client contracts and additional proposals, while managing account profitability. Accurately represent the client perspective during work reviews, incorporate that perspective into team feedback, and present recommendations to clients. Provide and/or guide strategic input for all internal and external plans. Ensure key information is communicated to the team regarding client issues, internal agency matters, account status changes, and other relevant developments.
Qualifications
Minimum of 6 years of media planning experience, including progressive client management responsibilities; this experience is essential for success in the role. Strong experience in 360° media planning across traditional and digital channels. Strategic thinker with a balanced analytical and creative approach to tactical planning. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely. Proven leadership capabilities and people management experience. Demonstrated success in bringing together cross-functional internal and external stakeholders to achieve desired business outcomes.

Actual salary within the salary range will be based on a variety of factors including relevant experience, knowledge, and skills.
