About the role

Sports Development Manager

Location: In-Office (GTA) | Department: Sports | Reports to: Sports Director

B’nai Brith Sports of Canada is seeking a dynamic and results-driven  Fundraising and Development Manager  to lead sponsorship development and drive member sports league engagement across our growing GTA-based sports portfolio.

This role is focused on strengthening our financial sustainability through strategic sponsorships while enhancing the overall member experience. The ideal candidate is equal parts relationship-builder, project manager, and creative thinker — someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about sports and community impact.

Key Responsibilities

Sponsorship Development

  • Design, execute, and manage a comprehensive sponsorship strategy to support B’nai Brith Canada’s sports programs and events
  • Identify, pitch, and cultivate new sponsor relationships, while stewarding existing partnerships
  • Develop customized sponsorship packages, proposals, and collateral in collaboration with the marketing team
  • Track progress toward sponsorship goals, manage sponsor recognition, and ensure fulfilment of sponsorship benefits

Sports League Member Engagement & Program Growth

  • Build and implement initiatives to increase participation and engagement among current, former, and prospective members
  • Execute new programming opportunities (e.g. new sports offerings, tournaments, events) to expand our reach and value proposition
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to create campaigns that promote sports programs and engagement opportunities
  • Serve as a key point of contact for members, helping to foster a vibrant and inclusive community experience

Grant Management & Writing

  • Identify and assess funding opportunities aligned with B’nai Brith Canada’s sports programming and engagement initiatives
  • Match relevant grants to existing and upcoming sports-related projects, prioritizing high-potential opportunities
  • Draft, edit, and submit compelling grant proposals in collaboration with internal teams
  • Liaise with funders and maintain a calendar of submissions, deadlines, and reporting requirements
  • Support post-award activities, including impact tracking and milestone reporting in partnership with the finance team

Departmental Support

  • Assist the Sports Director where needed in running the sports leagues and other duties as required.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and cross-departmental initiatives that align with organizational goals

What We’re Looking For

  • 3–5 years of experience in sponsorship development, fundraising, or business development, ideally within a sports or non-profit environment
  • Proven ability to generate revenue through corporate sponsorships or partnerships
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; comfortable pitching to stakeholders at all levels
  • Experience with member or community engagement initiatives
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and digital communication tools (e.g. Mailchimp, Canva, Salesforce, or similar)
  • A passion for sports, community service, and building meaningful relationships
