Manager, Safety and Quality Systems

What You'll Be Doing:
- Ensure that all employees receive SMS training in a timely manner that is appropriate with their duties and responsibilities, including initial in-class training, and recurrent online training as well as training for the Manager, Safety and Quality Systems position, including attendance at Transport Canada safety seminars.
- Administer the confidential reporting system which allows employees to anonymously report concerns without fear of reprisal.
- Administer and promote the safety management program and online reporting system.
- Monitor all employee and external reports of hazards, irregularities, incidents, violations, unusual occurrences, and other safety concerns submitted, and assign the investigation to the appropriate manager/investigator.
- Participate in reviewing and determining the adequacy of the Emergency Response Plan (ERP), mock drills and live scenarios.
- Review, as a participant on the SMS Committee, all in-progress and closed reports to ensure that risk controls and corrective actions address the root cause of the matter, comply with regulations and standards, and are aligned with safety policies.
- Facilitate meetings of the SMS Committee and provide quarterly reports to the PresidentCEO, Vice-President, Flight Operations and Vice-President, Technical Services.
- Support supervisors and managers/investigators in their investigations of hazards, incidents, accidents, occurrences, and make recommendations for resolution.
- Monitor the progress of investigations, corrective actions, follow-up, and communications, and report overdue actions or delinquencies to the Vice-President, Flight Operations and Vice-President, Technical Services.
- Other duties as stipulated within the job description as attached.

- Confidence using Microsoft Office and managing documentation with precision.
What You'll Need:
- Post-secondary education in public/environmental safety or business administration from an accredited college or university
- Minimum of five years' experience in a senior safety roleordemonstrated progressive training and management experience
- Experience within an aviation or commercial operation
- A combination of education and experience may be considered in place of formal requirements
- Professional certifications in OHS and/or aviation safety are considered an asset
