About the role

The Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic District School Board is seeking a skilled and service-focused ITS Supervisor – Systems and Support to lead and coordinate technical support services across the Board. Reporting to the Manager of Information Technology Services, this role oversees IT support staff, manages service levels, and ensures the effective operation of systems and infrastructure.

This position is ideal for a collaborative leader with strong technical expertise, supervisory experience, and a commitment to delivering high-quality support in an educational setting.

Key Job Requirements Leadership and Supervision:

  • Supervise and provide direction to identified IT support team, including computer technicians and system administrators
  • Support staff development through coaching, mentoring, and training.
  • Provide leadership in creating a climate in which excellence, customer service, productivity and teamwork are valued and where fairness, equity and support for employees are exemplified.

School Based Support

  • Establish clear priorities, allocate resources effectively, and ensure timely resolution of issues.
  • Define and implement ITS service level agreements, setting clear expectations and timelines for problem resolution.
  • Oversee and ensure effective staff support for back-office systems and servers.
  • Monitor, analyze and evaluate the performance of ITS support services, identifying recurring issues and developing proactive solutions to improve service quality and prevent future problems. Leverage current ITSM tools to track and report on key metrics such as resolution times, ticket outcomes, and user satisfaction.
  • Conduct regular visits to schools and office sites, engaging with administrators and department managers to ensure that each location’s technical needs are consistently met.

Other Responsibilities

  • Review and evaluate ITS related documentation for relevancy and accuracy. Identify any gaps in both technical and user documentation and organize the creation of missing documents.
  • Participate in selected sub-committees of the BHNCDSB IT Governance Council.
  • Liaise with central board staff, school administrators, board consortium partners, application vendors, Ministry of Education personnel and other local agencies.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Completion of a post-secondary program in Information Technology
  • Experience working with unionized employees and applying collective agreements, policies, and procedures.
  • Experience in an IT department within a school board is considered a strong asset.
  • Working knowledge of the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) and Control Objectives for Information and Related Technology (COBIT) frameworks. ITIL certification is considered an asset.
  • Experience managing Microsoft systems (Entra, Active Directory, Exchange) considered an asset.
  • Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
  • Strong leadership, relationship management, and staff development skills.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills (written, verbal, and technical).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, planning, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Commitment to integrating technology in education.
  • Self-motivated learner with capacity to adopt emerging technologies.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required.
