The Project:
This major national rail programme is focused on delivering a modern, electrified high-speed corridor that will strengthen connectivity between key urban centres. The scheme aims to significantly reduce journey times, enhance passenger capacity, and support long term decarbonisation goals. Development is progressing toward phased delivery over the next decade.
Provides strategic leadership across major construction projects, guiding senior project teams to deliver exceptional safety, quality, programme and budget outcomes. Accountable to Business Unit leadership for end‑to‑end performance, ensuring internal objectives, KPIs and commercial targets are consistently achieved across all projects within their remit.
You'll Be Responsible For:
- Champion Mace’s Safety First culture, ensuring exceptional safety, quality, compliance and wellbeing through strong HSE expertise.
- Lead strategic delivery and governance across key assignments, owning executive and client relationships and translating vision into deliverable plans.
- Uphold ethical, financially responsible operations while shaping long term business strategy.
- Develop and empower delivery teams through coaching, innovation and expert technical guidance.
- Leads senior project teams to deliver programme, safety, quality and performance targets, driving continuous improvement and service excellence.
- Converts client vision into robust delivery plans, optimising resources and embedding C2P, digital and net‑zero innovation.
- Builds strong client and stakeholder relationships, ensuring effective governance and strategic alignment.
- Creates an inclusive, high‑performing culture through mentorship, technical leadership and clear ownership of roles and responsibilities.
You’ll Need To Have:
- Experience delivering major rail or high‑speed programmes, ideally within the design or early set‑up stages.
- Chartered or professionally qualified (MCIOB, MAPM, MRICS, MICE) with a relevant degree or equivalent.
- Extensive construction management experience with strong commercial, financial and safety expertise.
- Proven leadership of diverse teams and senior stakeholder relationships across major projects.
- Advanced technical, digital, regulatory and sustainability knowledge, including MEP, legislation and modern construction methods.
Note: The estimated salary for this position is $250,000 - 300,000. Starting salary may vary based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, skills and qualifications.
