Department: MMTM - Machine shop

MMTM Lead will be responsible for the daily coordination and resource optimization of resources and support optimization activities within Machine shop.

Typical Duties and Responsiblities:

  • Working member of the team.
  • Proactively provides feedback to Team Leaders regarding resource availability, quality & quantity.
  • Allocate appropriately qualified human resources based on your prioritized task list.
  • Delegate tasks clearly and appropriately to team members including expected outcome and timeline
  • Ensure specific tasks set by Team Leader and daily tasks are completed within the expected timeframe
  • Interface with other departments to ensure all targets are met (i.e., Logistics, Engineering, Quality, Accessories, Production Control, Customer Support etc.) and notify Team Leader of any changes
  • Re-prioritize the task list in conjunction with the Team Leader in the event of absent employees.
  • Conduct Daily Crew Briefing , update Passover, and task assignments for next shift.
  • Ensure each engine’s paperwork binder is fully signed and completed, per the engine schedule each shift.
  • Familiar with SAP transactions, time bookings, creations and update of CS Orders.
  • Input appropriate data into MTU Database Systems (SAP, COIN, MBCS, etc.) for planning, reporting, and tracking purposes.
  • Familiar with MTU internal processes, Work Instructions and Operating Procedures.
  • Perform Shop Practice Audits , and maintain Tool Control Process for Audit Compliance.
  • Attend WRB Meetings, Quality, Production CIP Workshops, Career training when requested.
  • End of shift responsibilities; Passover information for next shift and toolbox audit checks.
  • Take initiative to work on efficiency improvements, identify cost reduction opportunities organizational and safety improvements.
  • Actively participates to support activities related to 6S, Shop audits and Process confirmations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Must have been employed with the company for a minimum of two (2) years.
  • Posses the ability and qualifications to carry out any work in their trade with the aid of engineering specifications, manuals or drawings.
  • Possess knowledge of department processes and procedures.
  • Detailed knowledge of engine types or components pertaining to work area.
  • Possess strong SAP theory and transaction understanding.
  • Possess excellent leadership skills, organizational ability and demonstrated problem-solving skills.
  • A diploma or secondary education is an asset but not a prerequisite.
  • Demonstrates values and a commitment to foster a healthy, supportive work environment dedicated to delivering a high-quality care experience though compassion, innovation, and respect.
  • Effectively applies organizational and time management skills to prioritize workload, to problem solve, and to adapt to frequent interruptions and change.

MTU Maintenance Canada Ltd. is an organization that is approved by the Federal Aviation Association (FAA), Transport Canada and other aviation authorities to inspect, maintain, repair, overhaul and test aircraft engines, modules, and components. MTU Canada is a North American member of the MTU Maintenance networks of companies, one of the largest provider of independent commercial engine services worldwide. The Canadian operations base serves in two locations in Delta and Richmond, British Columbia.

The Delta operations facility holds OEM technical data licenses required to maintain, repair and overhaul GE, IAE and CFMI engines: CF6-80, CFM56-2/3/7, F108, F138 and V2500 as well as a variety of other OEM licenses to perform MRO services on engine accessories for these and several other engine types. In 2022, MTU provided maintenance for V2500 and CF6-80 operators and owners and for the F108 and the F138 under USAF contracts.
