A key enabler to THP’s strategic plan is data and analytics. The Performance and Business Intelligence portfolio, in collaboration with teams across THP, will design, architect, govern and deploy high quality data and analytics, to support strategic performance insights and planning to enable THP’s mission of ‘A New Kind of Health Care for a Healthier Community’. Building upon several key achievements, this portfolio will continue to advance the development of an enterprise health data strategy and roadmap.The Performance and Business Intelligence portfolio is made up of Performance Analytics and Case Costing, the Business Planning Office, and the Business Intelligence Department.The Clinical Systems and Informatics portfolio is made up of our Epic applications and training teams focusing on the support and continued growth of our Epic platform, our clinical operating platform, the Clinical Enterprise Data Warehouse (Cogito), and Clinical Informatics which supports all clinical applications across THP.
Reporting into both the EVP/Performance & Planning-Chief Information & Analytics Officer and the VP of Clinical Systems and Informatics, the Business Intelligence department’s mandate is to plan, build, implement, and govern exceptional data infrastructure and solutions that are efficient, sustainable, and secure. We are advocates of data governance industry best practices (inclusive of data literacy, data quality, and data management) while providing reporting and analytics, and data visualization for our progressive enterprise.
Position Summary Reporting to Director of Business Intelligence and Data Governance the Data Governance & Data Literacy Coordinator will drive the coordination and delivery of our data governance and data literacy practices throughout the organization. It is a critical role in ensuring the integrity, security, and usability of data across Trillium Health Partners (THP). This position supports the implementation of data governance frameworks and promotes a culture of data literacy throughout the organization, enabling clinical, operational, and research teams to make informed, data-driven decisions. This aligns with THP’s strategic goals of making data more actionable and sustainable.
Job Responsibilities Data Governance
- Monitor and enforce data quality standards, including accuracy, completeness, consistency, and timeliness across all data sources and systems.
- Metadata & Classification: Support the creation and maintenance of data dictionaries, metadata repositories, and classification schemes to ensure clarity and accessibility of data assets.
- Identify and resolve data quality issues, escalating systemic problems to governance committees as needed.
- Act as a liaison between clinical, operational, and technical teams to align governance practices with organizational priorities.
- Create and maintain documentation for data management and governance processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
Product Development & Data Enablement
- Coordinate and deliver on bringing Key Performance Indicators along the KPI pipeline from start to finish.
- Lead data products through the entire product development lifecycle, encompassing design, data requirements, verification, implementation, and training.
- Engage with program and technical teams (Clinical Systems and Informatics, Performance Analytics, IT) to gather business requirements, validate definitions, identify data sources, and develop key performance indicators (KPIs) that are standardized and aligned across the organization.
- Conduct data discovery sessions with data owners and stewards in the creation of data assets.
- Align data tools within applications such as Epic, Oracle, UKG to have a unified and streamlined approach for data adoption within clinical and enabling teams standard operating procedures.
Data Literacy & Training

Organize and deliver training sessions, workshops, and presentations to build data literacy across the organization.

Identify knowledge and skill gaps needed for self-service data analytics.

Coordinate with Learning and Organizational Development to train new leaders on relevant tools.

Partner with Data Planning, Deployment and Adoption Lead to communicate and implement data literacy initiatives across departments.

Collaborate with the Data Governance Lead to promote best practices in data governance and literacy.

Design training programs and resources for staff at all levels and gather feedback to adjust data literacy / adoption programs to changing needs.

Promote a data-driven culture through internal communication and success stories.

Develop user-friendly guides and toolkits to help staff interpret analytics.

A related university degree (e.g., Data Management, Education, Math, Statistics or Computer Science) supplemented by at least three (3) years of experience in adult education and learning.

Experienced in implementing change management in large organizations with various levels of business

Theoretical and applicable knowledge in data governance, data management and data life cycle practices.

Experience in a data and analytics role and an understanding of data and analytics terminology and methodologies.

Knowledge and familiarity with using Power BI / SQL Server Reporting Services or other data reporting platforms.

Knowledge and familiarity with Epic (Clarity, Caboodle, Chronicles)

Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
