Technology Architect – Senior (IBM Maximo / Work Management Systems) Location: Metro Hall, 55 John Street, Toronto, ON Work Arrangement: Hybrid – 2-3 days onsite (subject to Hiring Manager discretion) Start Date: August 5, 2026 End Date: August 4, 2027 Hours: 7 hours/day, 5 days/week Incorp rate: $100-$124/hr
Position Overview We are is seeking a Senior Technology Architect with extensive IBM Maximo and Work Management Systems experience to support the Enterprise Work Management System (EWMS) Program and WP-ECF project teams. The successful candidate will act as a Maximo Technical Subject Matter Expert (SME), providing architecture leadership, technical strategy, solution design, and implementation guidance for enterprise-level work management solutions. This role requires deep expertise in IBM Maximo implementations, application development, integrations, enterprise architecture, and public sector technology environments.
Key Responsibilities Provide technical architecture, solution design, and implementation guidance for IBM Maximo-based work management solutions. Act as a technical SME supporting Maximo implementations, integrations, configurations, and enhancements. Develop technical strategies, architecture frameworks, and design documentation aligned with business and technology objectives. Lead solution design activities including: Requirements gathering Business process mapping Application architecture Custom application and interface design Technical decision documentation Provide guidance on Maximo integrations with third-party applications and enterprise systems. Support enterprise architecture, infrastructure configuration, and technology optimization initiatives. Recommend improvements to processes, procedures, and technical solutions to improve operational efficiency. Support root cause analysis and technical problem resolution. Promote reusable infrastructure, shared services, and standardized technology solutions. Provide technical guidance for: Legacy data conversion Data migration strategies Data mapping Conversion specifications Support application testing activities including: Functional testing Technical testing Unit testing Test case development Provide technical leadership and support for Maximo implementation activities within the City’s technology ecosystem.
Required Qualifications & Experience Graduate degree or higher in Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline. IBM Certified Maximo Professional certification. 15+ years of experience implementing Work Management Systems. 10+ years of experience with IBM Maximo application development and implementation. Extensive experience designing and implementing full lifecycle Work Management solutions. Strong knowledge of: IBM Maximo architecture and configuration Work management processes Maximo integrations and complementary third-party solutions Enterprise application implementation methodologies 5+ years of public sector experience (municipal government experience considered an asset). 5+ years of experience working as a Technology Architect within infrastructure/application architecture environments
