Vancouver Island Region is seeking a passionate and experienced Primary Care Nurse Practice Consultant to support our work in bringing care closer to home for First Nations communities. This is a meaningful opportunity to work with a First Nations organization grounded in relationships, cultural safety, and community driven health priorities.

Title: Primary Care Nurse Practice Consultant

Salary: $102,490 - $125,736 per year (pay range explained below)

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 8:30-4:30 Mon-Fri (core hours 9am-3pm Mon-Fri)

Location: Vancouver Island Ladysmith OB office

Bargaining Unit : PSAC Local 22000 (Public Service Alliance of Canada) or PIPSC BCFNHA Group (Professional Institute of the Public Service of Canada)

About The Role Primary Care Nurse Practice Consultant, you will – provide education, thought leadership and consultation on transformative models of team-based primary health care and clinical practice services that includes orientation, training, in-service, clinical support, and clinical competency assessment to Registered Nurses (RNs) who provide primary care services to First Nations communities and individuals in British Columbia.

About You To be successful in this role you will have/be

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing from a recognized university
  • Certified Remote Practice Certification is an asset

Experience

  • Five years of experience in primary care nursing providing clinical practice support and education to nurses or an acceptable combination of education, training and professional experience.
  • Experience in delivering community/public/home health nursing programs
  • Experience delivering health services in a First Nations setting

Registration & Certification

  • Eligibility or current registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Basic Life Support Certification Level C
