Nipissing-Parry Sound Catholic Invites Applications For The Position Of TEACHER – LONG TERM OCCASIONAL (LTO) ST. JOSEPH-SCOLLARD HALL 1.0 (Three Sections - Semester 1)

Grade 12 University English – ENG4U

Grade 11 College English – ENG3C

Grade 10 Hairstyling and Aesthetics and the Skilled Trades - TXJ2O

Effective immediately but not to extend beyond January 30, 2026 Mandatory Requirements

  • Basic qualifications to teach in the Intermediate and Senior Divisions - English
  • Basic qualifications in Technological Education (Hairstyling and Aesthetics); or candidates with pending or Transitional Certificate of qualifications in Hairstyling and Aesthetics

Preferred Requirements

  • Sound knowledge of the programs and teaching experience in the listed divisions and subject areas
  • A high degree of competency in health and safety standards that support the hairstyling and aesthetics program
  • An understanding of the required safety measures as part of the Ministry of Education's Student Injury Prevention Initiative
  • Knowledge and experience in utilizing student learning management systems such as Google Classroom and D2L Brightspace, as well as additional G-Suite digital tools, EDSBY and CVO courses on the VLE to facilitate instruction and effective communication with parents
  • Demonstrated knowledge of how students learn effectively with a repertoire of proven instructional and assessment practices
  • Commitment to supporting the use of technology in instruction and learning, and to promoting an environment of innovation and creativity that engages the 21st century learner
  • Commitment to ongoing professional learning and collaboration around the school's Student Achievement Plan through school-based PLC's, department meetings, co-planning and co-teaching
  • Knowledge, experience and proven ability in utilizing differentiated instructional approaches within the classroom that support well-being, equity and inclusion
  • Proven ability to implement effective classroom management strategies
  • Ability to implement a shared vision consistent with the principles of Catholic education and integrating the Catholic Graduate Expectations within the curriculum
  • Flexibility to be assigned in other subject areas as the need arises
  • Willingness to actively assume extra-curricular duties
  • Knowledge of, and familiarity with, the school community
