Job Purpose The Production Control Planner’s primary function is to provide support to the PC team by evaluating, processing, and analyzing information from multiple sources to prepare proposals and action plans. This role will also have the opportunity to support and implement MOS (Magellan Operating System) procedures, policies and tools.
Duties And Responsibilities Reporting to the Materials Manager the Production Control Planner’s major activities and responsibilities include the following.
Daily Roles And Responsibilities
- Creating and monitoring production schedule, balancing supply, demand and capacity
- Monitoring and reporting out on attainment to plan
- Review ready to release list and release new production orders to PC team
- Communicating with supervisors, lead-hands, PCs, stores, buyers for priorities
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure orders are shipped on time
- Reviewing/updating of order parameters in ERP system, Queue and Move times
- Analysis and resource parameters
- Communicating with buyers about delays (early shipments) and escalate as necessary
- Updating on-time completions and on-time starts
- Lead the execution of engineering changes
- Update work instructions and policy documents for the Materials department
- Assist in annual physical inventory and cycle counts
- Support the implementation of MOS tools and policies
- Other duties may be assigned
Stakeholder Management
- Be a critical interface with internal manufacturing, scheduling, purchasing, quality and configuration departments as needed
Continuous Improvement
- Implement appropriate processes for documenting lessons learned and sharing of best practices
Travel
- 0% travel time will be required for this position
Qualifications The minimum qualifications
- Commerce or Business Training, Business School Diploma or experience
- 2-5 years relevant experience working as a Planner in a Manufacturing environment
- Outstanding analytical and organizational skills
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Access and Office
- Excellent written /verbal communication skills
Physical Requirements The physical requirements of this job are minimal. The daily routine will entail sitting at a desk, general walking to and from meetings and conducting regular floor walks on the manufacturing floor.
