We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced SAP BTP Developer/Architect to lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable, secure, and modular applications on SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP).
The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in SAP BTP services including CAP, Fiori/UI5, Integration Suite, Event Mesh, and Workflow Management. Proficiency in programming languages such as Node.js, Java, and ABAP, along with strong API and integration capabilities, is essential.
This role demands hands-on experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing frameworks. The candidate should have a solid understanding of architectural principles including multi-tenant and event-driven architectures, microservices, and containerization. Familiarity with SAP Extension Suite, Clean Core principles, and connectivity across SAP systems (S/4HANA, C4C, Ariba, Concur) is crucial.
In addition to technical expertise, the candidate should demonstrate strong leadership and collaboration skills, with experience in mentoring teams, working in agile environments, and engaging stakeholders effectively. SAP certifications in BTP Extension Development, Integration Suite, and Fiori/UI5 are a plus.
Core Technical Skills:
- SAP BTP Services Expertise: CAP (Cloud Application Programming) Model, SAP Fiori/UI5 development, SAP Business Application Studio, SAP Integration Suite, SAP Event Mesh, Workflow Management, and Business Rules
- Familiarity with programing languages: Node.js / Java / ABAP. A strong ABAP background would be preferred
- API & Integration: REST/SOAP APIs, OData services, SAP API Management, Authentication & Authorization (OAuth2, JWT, XSUAA)
- DevOps & CI/CD: Git/GitHub or GitLab, Jenkins or SAP CI/CD service, Transport Management Service (TMS), Automated testing frameworks
- Architectural & Design Skills:
- Designing scalable, secure, and modular applications on BTP
- Multi-tenant architecture
- Event-driven architecture using Event Mesh
- Microservices and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Understanding of SAP Extension Suite and Clean Core principles
- SAP BTP cockpit and subaccount management
- Entitlements and service plans
- Connectivity with S/4HANA (on-prem or cloud), C4C, Ariba, Concur, etc
- SAP Launchpad and Work Zone configuration
- Leadership & Collaboration: Leading development teams and mentoring junior developers, Working with cross-functional teams (Basis, Security, Integration), Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban), Stakeholder communication and requirement gathering
- Certifications (Optional but Valuable): SAP Certified Development Associate – SAP BTP Extension Developer, SAP Certified Integration Suite Developer, SAP Certified Application Associate – SAP Fiori/UI5
Location and other Key Details:
- This is an office-based role. You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 –6th Ave S.W.
- Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
- On-call rotation for after hours support
- Our business professional roles follow internal compensation guidelines, and the pay band will generally be based years of experience and scope of work
