Job Description
As part of a major project, we are seeking an Estimating Lead based in Montreal. You will be responsible for leading cost estimating activities for complex projects, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with industry best practices.
Responsibilities:

Develop and implement estimating strategies for large-scale projects, particularly in industrial, mining, or infrastructure sectors.

Prepare, review, and validate detailed cost estimates at all project phases (conceptual, FEED, execution).

Lead the collection and analysis of cost data, integrating input from technical disciplines and suppliers.

Ensure consistency in estimating methodologies and compliance with internal standards and contractual requirements.

Provide sensitivity analyses and cost-related risk assessments to support decision-making.

Collaborate closely with planning, project controls, and risk management teams to ensure reliable forecasting.

Prepare clear reports and presentations for management and stakeholders.

Mentor and train junior estimators, promoting skill development and continuous improvement.

Stay informed on market trends, cost indices, and best practices in estimating.
Qualifications
-
University degree in engineering, project management, construction economics, or a related field.

10 years of experience in cost estimating for major projects, ideally in mining, industrial, or infrastructure sectors.

Proficiency in estimating tools such as CostX, Cleopatra, Aspen Capital Cost Estimator, Sage, or equivalent.

Strong understanding of project controls, EPC processes, and benchmarking methodologies.

Ability to interpret plans, specifications, and technical documents.

Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage multidisciplinary teams and clients.

Bilingual in French and English (spoken and written) is required.

Professional certification (e.g., AACE CCP, CEP or equivalent) is an asset.
