Role: Software Developer (Golang | Node.js | JavaScript | Power BI) Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid) Experience: 8+ Years Type: Full Time Permanent
Job Summary We are seeking a Software Developer with strong expertise in Golang, JavaScript, and Node.js to build and maintain cloud-native applications and microservices for Capital Markets solutions. The ideal candidate will also have experience developing reporting solutions using Power BI, including dashboards, semantic models, DAX, Power Query, and embedded analytics. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing applications while leveraging modern CI/CD practices and exploring AI-powered development tools.
Must Have Technical Skills Strong experience in Golang, JavaScript, and Node.js Cloud-native application development Microservices architecture RESTful API design and development Strong experience in Power BI report and dashboard development Datasets, Semantic Models DAX and Power Query (M) Power BI REST APIs/SDKs Embedded Analytics BI Reporting and Reporting Solutions CI/CD using GitHub and GitHub Actions Docker and Kubernetes exposure Experience working with cloud platforms Knowledge of software design principles and secure coding practices
Roles & Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain cloud-native microservices and RESTful APIs using Golang, JavaScript, and Node.js. Build scalable, secure, and resilient applications on modern cloud platforms. Develop and optimize Power BI reports, dashboards, datasets, semantic models, DAX measures, and Power Query transformations. Automate Power BI deployment, refresh, workspace management, and security using Power BI REST APIs and SDKs. Embed Power BI analytics into web/internal applications with secure authentication and authorization. Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, and analysts to convert reporting requirements into interactive dashboards and visualizations. Design, implement, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitHub and GitHub Actions. Follow best practices for coding standards, testing, deployment automation, reporting governance, and documentation. Participate in solution design, code reviews, and technical discussions. Support production issues and participate in on-call rotation when required. Ensure adherence to security, compliance, and regulatory standards. Utilize GitHub Copilot and explore MCP to improve development productivity. Explore AI/LLM technologies (Claude Sonnet, GPT, Gemini) for code generation, automation, and analytics enhancements. Mentor junior developers and contribute to technical excellence (for senior-level candidates).
Required Experience Hands-on experience with Golang or Node.js development. Experience building REST APIs and microservices. Exposure to Power BI or other BI reporting tools. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and GitHub Actions. Basic knowledge of Docker/Kubernetes. Strong willingness to learn modern AI development tools and cloud technologies. Extensive experience designing enterprise-grade microservices and cloud-native applications. Strong expertise in Power BI dashboards, DAX, Power Query, semantic models, and embedded analytics. Experience with Power BI REST APIs, SDKs, workspace automation, and security (RLS/Azure AD preferred). Proven experience implementing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions. Experience mentoring developers and driving technical solutions. Strong understanding of software architecture and reporting governance.
Good to Have Experience with Model Context Protocol (MCP) GitHub Copilot LLM integration (Claude Sonnet, GPT, Gemini) Experience in Capital Markets or Financial Services domain
