The IBM FutureNow Centre: Nova Scotia occupies a unique position in the IT marketplace – at the intersection of business and technology. In this role, you'll work in our IBM FutureNow Center, where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. These delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.

Candidates Must
- Have graduated no earlier than 2024, and will be graduating no later than June 2026.
- Have a College Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree, or Master’s Degree by date of Employment in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or similar program (This program does not accept MBA or PhD candidates or graduates).
- Have no more than 1 year of full-time professional related work experience.
- Be eligible to work in Canada without current or future needs for visa sponsorship (PR, or Canadian citizenship preferred).
- Must be located in Nova Scotia, Canada, or willing to relocate.
- Must be eligible for clearance and have lived in Canada for at least 5 years.

Since 2013 our SAP practice has nurtured the careers of our new graduates from entry level consultants to roles in leadership positions. You will have support from multiple years of previous new graduates who have grown their careers within the IBM SAP practice and can provide mentorship. We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented SAP Technical consultant to join our team in Halifax. The SAP Practice has grown to 160+ SAP Professionals in Halifax.
An SAP Technical Consultant can expect one of the following responsibilities:
- Application Development: Design, develop, modify, and troubleshoot ABAP programs and interfaces following best practices and coding standards.
- Integration Development: Configure and maintain SAP PI/PO or SAP Integration Suite to facilitate seamless data exchange between SAP and non-SAP systems.
- System Administration (Basis): Manage and optimize SAP system performance, security, and stability. Perform upgrades, install enhancements, and ensure high availability and backup/recovery processes.
- Security: Implement and manage SAP security measures, including user administration, authorizations, and access controls to protect sensitive data and maintain compliance with standards.
- Data Analytics: Utilize SAP BI, SAP Analytics Cloud, or other tools to design, develop, and implement reporting and analytics solutions. Extract, transform, and visualize data to provide actionable insights.
- Collaborate with clients to understand business requirements and design tailored SAP solutions that align with their objectives.
- Create, update, and maintain technical documentation, including system specifications, functional designs, test cases, and user manuals.
- Assist in training sessions, workshops, and knowledge transfer activities for clients or internal teams, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Stay current with SAP product developments, enhancements, and best practices to ensure continuous learning and growth.
Required Technical And Professional Expertise

- You are great at solving problems, debugging, troubleshooting, designing and implementing solutions to complex technical issues.
- Knowledge of compliance regulations & Industry standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
- You have basic knowledge or hands on experience in one or more of the following technology areas: Microsoft Office Suite, JIRA, Service Now, or Azure DevOps.
- Exposure to SAP BTP, SAP S/4HANA, SAP Fiori and other SAP technologies is an asset
Preferred Technical And Professional Experience
- Familiarity with SAP Security Modules: Exposure to new features and releases of SAP security modules, staying up-to-date with the latest SAP HANA security features, trends, and best practices.
- Knowledge of Industry Standards: Understanding of industry standards and regulations, such as SOX, HIPAA, and GDPR, and experience ensuring compliance with these requirements.
- Experience with SAP Systems Integration: Exposure to integrating SAP HANA application security with other SAP systems and third-party applications.
