Position Title
Project Navigator, WIL Bursary (term-certain)
Position Summary
The Accessible Work-integrated Learning (WIL) bursary project will involve implementing processes for bursary communication, student bursary applications, selection and verification, and communication to the student funding team about payments to be made. This position will also gather information for and complete the final report to funders, Co-operative Education and Work-Integrated Learning (CEWIL) Canada, at the end of the funding cycle. In addition, this role will perform research and may make recommendations on increasing sustainability of barrier reduction supports for students in WIL experiences.
The Project Navigator is responsible for leading and managing projects from initiation through completion within a designated operational area, under the guidance of a project sponsor. This role ensures alignment with strategic and operational goals by overseeing project planning, design, implementation, communication, and assessment.
Working both independently and collaboratively, the Project Navigator engages with a variety of internal and external stakeholders to drive project success. They apply analytical thinking, creativity, and adaptability to support informed decision-making and effective problem-solving.
Key responsibilities include coordinating timelines, reporting, and stakeholder communications, while keeping sponsors and partners informed of progress. Additionally, the Project Navigator supports organizational change by leading training initiatives and contributing to change management efforts to promote successful project adoption.
Position Responsibilities
Project Coordination
- Lead and manage projects and strategic initiatives, providing expert project coordination and oversight.
- Design, plan, implement, and assess projects to ensure successful delivery.
- Monitor project milestones and timelines, ensuring timely completion.
- Identify issues and propose solutions to maintain project momentum.
- Act as a liaison between external stakeholders and internal project teams. Mentor external partners on organizational processes and practices.
- Collaborate with internal departments such as Marketing & Communications, Work Integrated Learning, Registrar’s Office, and academic Schools.
- Develop and maintain project documentation including plans, schedules, proposals, business cases, deliverables, agendas, and minutes.
- Support reporting and evaluation through documentation and data collection.
- Conduct research and gather information in preparation for meetings.
- Ensure follow-up on all project action items.
- Present project completion summaries to sponsors and department heads.
- Organize meeting logistics
- Manage project budgets to meet objectives.
Training Coordination

Plan and execute training initiatives related to new systems, platforms, or organizational changes.

Ensure training programs are inclusive, accessible, and tailored to diverse audiences.

Maintain records of training plans, schedules, attendance, feedback, and outcomes.

Design and customize training materials for internal staff and external stakeholders.

Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure content accuracy and relevance.

Monitor and evaluate training effectiveness using surveys, assessments, and performance metrics.

Assist in implementing change management strategies.

Promote user adoption through effective training and support.

Align training efforts with project goals through collaboration with internal and external partners.

Facilitate clear and consistent communication among stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
-
Four (4) year undergraduate degree, or three (3) year undergraduate degree plus one full additional year of university representing four years of study or equivalent in a related program, such as, Business Administration, Project Management, Communication.

Minimum 3 years of experience in project coordination or management.

Familiarity with change management principles and practices.

Effective organizational, time management, and planning skills.

Excellent oral, written, and technical skills.
-
Strong technical skills and ability to learn different software products.

Ability to champion and lead change; a proactive, collaborative, results-oriented style.
-
Strong analytical skills, ability to think outside the box, and apply creative solutions to issues presented.

Excellent interpersonal, relationship building, and conflict resolution skills.

Proven ability to determine priorities, be self-directed, and work with minimal supervision.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Preferred Qualifications

Project Management certification (e.g., PMP, CAPM) is an asset.

Knowledge and awareness of the operation of a post-secondary institution is preferred.
