Manager, National Partnerships
About the role
True North Sports + Entertainment is looking for an energetic and motivated sales professional to join our team.
The Manager, National Partnershipsis responsible for the retention and growth of revenue for True North partnerships for all subsidiaries (including Winnipeg Jets, Manitoba Moose, hockey for all centre, Burton Cumming Theatre and Canada Life Centre). Primarily focused on the development of National partnerships, this role is responsible for executing a comprehensive, coordinated sales strategy to support these portfolios. This role will build and foster relationships with customers and be accountable for enhancing existing relationships, services, and offerings to grow revenue.
What to be excited for in this role:
- Develop, and attract, new partners within existing and emerging industries.
- Utilize industry trends, data, and analytics for a broad and comprehensive understanding of our consumers and decision-making, leveraging the insights regionally and nationally.
- Provide a high level of service to account base for the retention and growth of existing customers and the development of new business.
- Target and qualify new partnership lead, with a primary focus on the development of National brands.
- Manage a high volume of outbound calls, emails and proactive research in support of new business development.
- Work with partners to develop and execute a partnership that most effectively meet the needs and objectives of our partners, while maintaining the brand standards and requirements of the organization.
- In collaboration with the Partnership Integration team, communicate and work directly with customers on the implementation and activation of all components of the partnership agreement.
- Achieve partnership revenue goals and maximize the sale of fully integrated partnerships in all industries.
- Network, maintain and continually grow a prospect database of new leads and customers.
- Provide weekly reporting and communication of various sales related metrics including lead generation, account status, closing dates, new revenue potential, and relevant partnership communications.
- Conduct research to identify and track prospects/organizations within various industries to develop lists of contacts for potential partnerships.
- Ensure the timely preparation, delivery and execution of sponsorship agreements.
- Manage the timely collection of receivables associated to sponsorship agreements.
What we need from you:
- Demonstrated ability and related experience prospecting new customers through a variety of communication channels (i.e., cold calls, email, and social).
- Ability to think conceptually and creatively to create and sell multi-faceted synergistic programming.
- Ability to qualify a prospective partnership through effective discovery questioning and negotiate various components.
- Ability to negotiate partnership components including properties and financial implications.
- Ability to make presentations to key decision makers.
- Superior attention to detail and very strong organizational skills to stay on task and effectively manage competing demands towards successful and timely completion of projects and departmental goals.
- A strong communicator with exceptional interpersonal skills, interacting with colleagues and customers alike.
- Comfortable working in a collaborative environment of accountability.
- Ability and willingness to learn.
- Must be motivated, reliable, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel.
- Undertake such other duties that are consistent with the responsibilities of the role and the needs of the organization, including flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
