THE POSITION Keyera is currently seeking a Plant Operator to join our Cynthia Gas Plant in the Drayton Valley area.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the safe, reliable, and efficient day-to-day operation of the Cynthia Gas Plant.
  • Perform intermediate to senior level operating assignments on plant equipment.
  • Work with team on preventative maintenance and ensure equipment is running efficiently and safe.
  • Monitor facility readings, product sampling and quality control.
  • Assist with contractor, driver orientation and supervision for on-site operations.
  • Participate in review, modification or development of facility procedures.
  • Support engineering and maintenance teams with various projects.

Qualifications The successful candidate will be well-organized, energetic, and service-oriented with the following qualifications:

  • Technical Diploma (or relevant diploma/degree from an accredited institution).
  • Fourth Class steam ticket or Fired Process Heater Operator Certificate is preferred as a minimum.
  • 5 years previous applicable experience related to Sour Natural Gas Plant and Battery Processing.
  • Strong commitment to Health, Safety and the Environment.
  • Self-starter who is able to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as be a strong team player who is a highly organized, reliable individual with attention to detail.
  • Participate in the facility work functions as a team member with a focus on internal and external customer service.
  • Operate the facility in a safe, economical and efficient manner using quality principles.
  • Valid H2S Alive, WHMIS, TDG and First Aid Certificates would be an asset.
  • A valid driver’s license and ability to provide 5-year standard driver abstract (clean driver’s abstract).
  • This role is subject pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol testing and ongoing compliance with the company’s Drug and Alcohol Policy.
  • This role requires the candidate to wear respiratory protective equipment. As per Alberta OHS 250(2), the candidate must ensure an adequate seal where the face piece of the equipment seals to the skin of the face.
