The Opportunity We are currently seeking an Analyst II – IT Asset Applications Systems Analyst to join our Information Technology team in St John’s.
This a permanent hybrid position .
As an Analyst II – IT Asset Applications Systems Analyst, you will be responsible for supporting the managed services provider in delivering day-to-day support and enhancement activities for the application portfolio supporting our mining, surface plant, and other production areas, both domestically and internationally. Your experience and skill will allow you to ensure continuous availability, performance, and stability of these critical applications by assisting in holding the managed service provider accountable for service level agreements (SLAs) and contributing to continuous improvement in their performance.
Additionally, in this position you will:
- Monitor service performance against SLAs & key performance indicators (KPIs), identify trends, and implement strategies to optimize delivery. Lead service review meetings to discuss performance and improvements.
- Promote continuous improvement and innovation within the managed services partnership. Identify opportunities to optimize support processes and leverage new technologies.
- Serve as the main contact for the managed service provider, building strong relationships and fostering open communication. Address service delivery issues and escalate critical problems for timely resolution.
- Maintain an understanding of the application portfolio, including architecture, functionality, and dependencies. Identify opportunities for optimization.
- Oversee change and release management processes, ensuring changes are planned, tested, and implemented smoothly. Review and approve change requests to align with policies.
- Identify potential risks associated with the applications and contribute to developing strategies to mitigate them.
- Communicate regularly with IT and business stakeholders regarding the status of the application portfolio, including performance, availability, and enhancement progress.
About You Education:
- College Diploma in Information Technology, Project Management or relevant discipline
- ITIL Certification required
Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years of related experience in a mining or exploration environment .
Skills:
- Good understanding of application development and system integration.
- Proficiency in programming languages.
- Experience with middleware and database management systems (e.g. SQL, Azure).
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with cloud-based applications and services, including PaaS (Platform as a Service), SaaS (Software as a Service), and other cloud solutions.
- Proficiency in French or Portuguese would be an asset.
