About the Role:
The YMCA of Northern Alberta is currently seeking a detail-oriented, proactive, and organized Accounts Payable Administrator to join our finance team on a full-time basis. This entry-level position is ideal for a candidate with foundational experience in accounts payable and a strong desire to work in a dynamic organization and hybrid work environment. The candidate will be responsible for processing cheques, managing Visa cards, handling electronic funds transfers (EFTs), and supporting the overall accounts payable function.
Responsibilities:
- Process and issue cheques in a timely and accurate manner.
- Process vendor invoices and employee expenses in compliance with policies and procedures.
- Perform data integrity checks to ensure general ledger coding and expense types align with policy and program requirements.
- Manage Visa card transactions and ensure proper documentation and reconciliation.
- Handle electronic funds transfers (EFTs) and ensure accurate recording of transactions.
- Maintain and update accounts payable records and files.
- Assist with month-end closing and reconciliation processes.
- Collaborate with other departments and vendors to resolve invoice discrepancies and ensure timely payments.
- Provide support for audits and financial reporting as needed.
- Utilize NetSuite ERP system and Concur expense management system for accounts payable tasks and reporting.
- Backup to the Accounts Payable Supervisor in day-to-day function.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in accounting or finance is a plus.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in accounts payable or a similar role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Proficiency in NetSuite ERP system or SAP Concur expense management is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
