About the role
We are looking for a Health & Safety Leader – a skilled individual who thrives in getting involved with daily operations and focusing on the right things to support a safe work environment.
What You Will Do
- Lead a visible on-the-floor safety presence. Get involved with our operations team and get an in-depth understanding on how our daily operations work. This is a 100% on-site position.
- Lead and support our JHSC activities. Co-chair our monthly meetings, develop our committee members and support the completion of any open action items.
- Lead safety programs. Administrate and execute key safety programs such as evacuation drills, environmental monitoring, and training certifications.
- Support safe return to work. Oversee the incident reporting process, working with our leaders and other teams to eliminate hazards and safely return employees to work.
- Educate our teams. Find effective ways to communicate health & safety awareness amongst our employee population.
What We Need
- Minimum 5 years within a dedicated safety role in a manufacturing organization; experience within a leadership position is considered an asset.
- Education related to Occupational Health and Safety concepts; CRSP or CRST designation is considered an asset.
- An engaging personality; a champion of a positive and safe work environment.
- Experience in getting first-hand understanding on safety issues within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of workplace ergonomics, manufacturing environments and root cause analysis.
- Experience leading JHSC activities for an organization.
- Familiarity in Ministry of Labour interactions and building a collaborative approach towards workplace safety.
- An educator; someone who can effectively create and distribute education that makes a difference in the workplace.
- Strong administrator with a focus on time management. Using internal organization systems to keep track of ongoing tasks, assign time to work on projects and meet the expectations of the role.

Annual Salary Range - $80,000-$90,000
