Responsibilities
- Ensure staff members are properly trained and retrained according to training guides and procedures.
- Develop employees through coaching, goal setting, conducting performance reviews
- Initiate and implement programs and procedures required to ensure DC safety and cleanliness in all zones
- Ensure all equipment is in good order and ensure employees perform pre-shift checks
- Maintain labour budget and cost per unit; assist the manager in planning and scheduling labor daily
- Understand and oversee the day-to-day operation of the Customer Pick Ups, Return to Vendor, Chair Assembly Departments as well as be responsible for clerical functions throughout the building; communicate and liaise with stores as required
- Promote employee involvement in employee relations and safety committees
- Train and develop employees, identifying and mentoring high potential candidates
- Ensure compliance with all Brick Group policies and procedures while achieving departmental goals through effective staff management
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education an asset
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a diverse work environment. Experience in Dispatcher WMS would be an asset
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Working knowledge of materials handling equipment and safe material handling techniques
- Proficient with Microsoft Office programs
- Self-motivated, high energy and a strong work ethic
- Superior planning and organizational skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
