The Business Support Services Branch is seeking a motivated, results-driven Operational Business Analyst with strong problem-solving and communication skills. In this role, you will collaborate within a dynamic team to support business analysis and develop deliverables for various technology projects. You’ll excel at identifying client needs and researching solutions to address business challenges.
As an Operational Business Analyst, you will:
- Collaborate with ministry staff and stakeholders to assess current and future business needs;
- Develop detailed business requirements and recommendations to support client objectives;
- Research and evaluate concepts and designs for operational tools and solutions;
- Define quality standards and recommend improvements to ensure consistency;
- Create user guidance to support successful adoption of new technologies or processes;
- Design and coordinate test plans to validate configuration changes and ensure application components function as expected; and
- Prepare testing documentation and training materials to support the implementation of new processes or application updates.
The successful candidate will need:
- Practical knowledge of business needs analysis and process improvement methodologies, tools, and techniques;
- A strong understanding of project management, change management, and continuous improvement principles;
- Familiarity with system design standards and database concepts to translate technical information for end users and IT personnel;
- The ability to identify, analyze, and resolve issues by providing recommendations or implementing solutions;
- Effective consultation and communication skills with both technical teams and non-technical clients to understand business operations; and
- The ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with clients, colleagues, and service providers.
Typically, the required knowledge for this position is obtained through a university degree in Business Administration, a business analysis certification, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics CRM, ServiceNow, Azure DevOps, ArcGIS, SharePoint, and familiarity with ministry programs and legislation is considered an asset.
