About the role
Medical Office Assistant
Duties:
- Booking/scheduling patient appointments
- Greeting and checking in patients
- Attending telephones for patient inquiry and to confirm appointments
- Clerical tasks will include faxing, scanning and sorting mail
- Assist with patient intake and prepare examination room
- Coordinate referrals to specialists and follow-up appointments
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area
Skills:
- Minimum 1-year experience working in a medical clinic setting
- Proficiency in both written and verbal English
- Excellent organizational and critical thinking skills
- Computer skills to have the ability to enter information accurately and efficiently in EMR
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Ability to prioritize, self-manage and multi-task
- Urdu/Hindi/Tamil speaking is an asset
- Knowledge of PS Suite EMR is an asset
- Typing speed of 40 WPM is required
This position requires a dedicated individual who can handle administrative tasks and direct patient contact in a fast-paced medical office environment. The ideal candidate should have excellent organizational skills, be able to work well with a team, and have a strong commitment to providing quality patient care.
