Position Summary Reporting to the Manager, Professional Practice- Digital Practice & Learning and Clinical Transformation aids in defining and navigating a path that supports and translates both digital learning and workflow development and supports the integration of clinical practice into the design and build of the Electronic Health Record (EHR). The PPA- DLCT would support the organization in the following areas:

Digital Learning

  • Collaborate on self-guided learning for specialty roles
  • Review feedback from learners and incorporate feedback to improve current self-guided learning
  • Design and create critical assets to improve Oracle Cerner education
  • Collaborate with Organizational Development and other stakeholders to design and build EDGE courses
  • Collaboration where required with physician learning
  • Utilization of report data from various metrics, such as barcode scanning, early warning scoring, BPMH to improve Cerner training
  • Report learner satisfaction metrics

Clinical Transformation

  • Collaborate with all sites in continual improvements and align practices where applicable
  • Collaborate with organizational stakeholders such as Director of Digital Practice, Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO), clinical informatics, physicians, Educators/ Educators/ PPLs/ PPMs to assist with prioritization of change requests
  • Aid in supporting and translating in both digital learning and workflow development to support the integration of clinical practice into the design and build of the EHR
  • Collaborate with front line staff to review critical workflows and advise CCIO, CMIO, clinical informatics leadership to ensure workflow designs align with patient safety initiatives (i.e. Accreditation standards)
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and improve inefficiencies by creating joint working group comprised of frontline staff, informatics, CPOE, Educators/EPLs, PPLs

Professional Practice Development

  • Support and contribute to several organizational priorities, both now and as they evolve over time. Included in these priorities are:
  • Oncology Phase 2 CPOE
  • Regional Oncology Project
  • Cambridge Oracle Cerner Project
  • Cerner Optimization Requests
  • QIP and Strategic Projects

Position Requirements

  • Current registration in good standing as a Regulated Health Care Professional
  • Graduate degree in related field preferred
  • Experience with Cerner Millennium required
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience (full time equivalent).
  • Previous strong leadership experience required
  • Previous experience in Professional Practice preferred.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills and effective problem solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and strong listening skills
  • Demonstrated customer service skills and the ability to understand customer needs is a critical success factor
  • Ability to master system functionality and become a systems expert an asset
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of quality improvement processes, adult learning principles and change management
  • Experience in the development of policies, procedures and knowledge transfer is an asset.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to establish positive partnerships
  • Working knowledge of health care legislation required.
  • Highly motivated, self-directed with demonstrated ability to provide leadership within and across an interprofessional team in complex adaptive systems.
  • Demonstrated skills in the use of research in the practice setting, clinical education, planning, consultation and facilitation.
  • Demonstrated excellent presentation, project management and organizational skills required.
  • Excellent computer literacy skills and knowledge of M.S. Word, Excel, Articulate and PowerPoint.
  • Must be able to travel between multiple sites as needed.
