The Villa Retirement Lodge is a prestigious and licensed retirement community in Midland, Ontario and offers 154 modern and impeccable suites. Midland is a vibrant town on Georgian Bay and is approximately 50 km north of Barrie and 48 km north-west of Orillia. The community is known as the gateway to the 30,000 islands and draws tourists with its natural beauty, water-based activities, and numerous parks and cottages. Midland hosts various cultural events, such as the annual Butter Tart Festival, and has a lively downtown area with unique shops, restaurants, and a vibrant arts scene.

Join our team as the Wellness Manager!

Under the direction of the General Manager, the Wellness Manager is responsible and accountable to oversee the services and general well being of all of the residents in the Lodge.

Key duties include a focus on compliance with ORCA and RHA, cross-departmental collaboration, and fostering community involvement. Responsibilities also include managing documentation, budgets, risk management, occupational health and safety (including the Ontario Act), C.Q.I., inspections, and overseeing staff.

We are looking for the following qualifications and traits**:**

  • Minimum of one-year relevant leadership experience preferred
  • RPN with the College of Nurses (must be a member in good standing)
  • Demonstrated ability to assess the health status of residents and effectively use the nursing process of assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating to provide high quality nursing care to residents
  • Demonstrated ability to apply critical thinking and clinical judgment
  • Ability to provide positive role modeling and leadership to staff
  • Provide required in-service training and orientation to new employees
  • Experience in progressively responsible roles with demonstrated interpersonal skills· Ability to respond to emergency situations Knowledge of RHRA legislation an asset.
  • Ability to manage the department's finance; including inventory management and purchasing, considered an asset.
  • Experience in managing/ supervising employees, scheduling and disciplinary principles.
  • Ability to build internal and external relationships with residents, family and interdisciplinary teams.
  • GPA training and gerontology experience is an asset.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Must have a Valid driver's license
