FACILITIES ATTENDANT

Position Type: Temporary Part Time Number of Positions: Sixteen (16) Department: Community Services Department - Facilities Division File Number: SV26-82 Location: Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre (265 Cannifton Road, Belleville, ON) Hours: Varied hours Employee Group: Union - CUPE Salary: $18.53 per hour, plus shift premium where applicable Closing Date: Thursday, July 16, 2026 at 4:30 PM PURPOSE AND SCOPE: Reporting to the Supervisors, Facilities Operations, the Facilities Attendants are responsible for supporting the operation and cleanliness of the Quinte Sports & Wellness Centre, and other facilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position will: Provide timely, accurate information to the Supervisors, Facilities Operations and respond to the decisions and directions generated by same. Make sound and safe decisions as it relates to the upkeep of the facilities, personal behaviour, and health and safety. Complete tasks using proper procedures and escalate to Supervisors where required. Promote good public relations giving the City of Belleville a positive public image. Assist in maintaining the facility through ice maintenance and custodial cleaning as prescribed by the Supervisors, Facilities Operations such as; Cleaning bathrooms Mopping, dusting sweeping Garbage collection and removal Clearing clutter, snow, and ice ensuring entrances are clear Moving nets; shoveling snow from ice surface Glass cleaning Etc. Complete setups in meeting rooms, common areas, arenas, gym space, and other duties as required, involving staging, chairs, tables, and audio-visual equipment. Assist the user groups utilizing the building facilities without hindrance to general duties. Communicate professionally, and effectively with staff, tenants, contractors, and members of the general public, promoting a high standard of customer service. Perform all tasks and responsibilities through the lens of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, ensuring commitment to fairness, representation, accessibility and respect for diverse perspectives and cultures in all aspects of work.

EDUCATION/TRAINING/SPECIALIZED SKILLS

At minimum high school diploma in progress Candidates must have their own safety boots Satisfactory Criminal Record Check (“CRC”) and Vulnerable Sector Screening prior to commencing work at the City of Belleville.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Entry level position Experience within a rink setting and work related to ice maintenance Pool and custodial experience. Experience with a floor machine, swing buffer, Demonstrated interpersonal and team skills; ability to communicate professionally and effectively Organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities HOW TO APPLY: www.belleville.ca/careers
