The Systems Administrator is responsible for maintaining and supporting the organization’s core IT infrastructure, including servers, virtualization platforms, identity management systems, Microsoft 365 services, backup environments, and security tooling across multiple operating businesses. They ensure stable, secure, and efficient day-to-day IT operations while supporting infrastructure improvements, system upgrades, and operational best practices. The role requires strong technical troubleshooting abilities, systems administration experience, and a disciplined approach to documentation, security, and change management. This position reports directly to the Manager, IT Infrastructure & Security and has the following general duties and responsibilities assigned to their role.
Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain and support server, storage, virtualization, and SAN infrastructure across the organization.
  • Administer Active Directory and Entra ID environments, including user accounts, permissions, group policies, conditional access, and identity management processes.
  • Manage and support Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and related security and compliance configurations.
  • Support patch management, endpoint protection, and infrastructure security initiatives in collaboration with the Manager, IT Infrastructure & Security.
  • Monitor infrastructure performance, system availability, backups, and operational alerts to proactively identify and resolve issues.
  • Manage and verify backup and disaster recovery processes using Veeam, Acronis, or equivalent backup solutions.
  • Provide Tier-2 technical support and troubleshooting for escalated infrastructure and systems-related issues.
  • Lead and support infrastructure projects including upgrades, migrations, deployments, and platform improvements.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and change management records.
  • Utilize PowerShell and automation tools to streamline repetitive administration tasks and improve operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with internal IT team members and cross-functional stakeholders to support business operations across multiple entities.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of hands-on system administration experience in a professional IT environment.

Strong experience supporting Windows Server environments, Active Directory / Entra ID, and

  • Microsoft 365 administration.

Working knowledge of virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere or Hyper-V.

  • Experience supporting storage infrastructure, networking fundamentals, VPNs, VLANs, LAN/WAN environments, and TCP/IP protocols.
  • Hands-on experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions such as Veeam, Acronis, or equivalent tools.
  • Experience with scripting and automation using PowerShell.

Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Strong organizational skills with a disciplined approach to documentation, operational procedures, and change management.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • This role is a 100% in-office position and will require in-person collaboration with IT team members and business stakeholders across multiple operating companies.
