About the role
Being a Human Resources Advisor – Unionized Workforce with us means taking on a central role in managing labor relations for our L’Islet plant, which employs approximately 180 unionized employees.
As an HR Advisor, you will support managers on a daily basis, assist operations in a dynamic manufacturing environment, and contribute to the proactive application of HR practices and the collective agreement.
Organized, proactive, and solution-oriented, you will also participate in the implementation of corporate initiatives aimed at enhancing the employee experience and strengthening the company culture.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Labor Relations and Manager Support
- Provide leadership in all labor relations matters: interpreting the collective agreement, handling grievances, conducting investigations, supporting arbitration, and applying internal policies;
- Support managers with daily challenges related to staff management, work organization, disciplinary actions, HR policies, and legal obligations;
- Maintain regular communication with union representatives and ensure follow-up on commitments to promote a healthy and respectful work environment.
Staffing and Administrative Management
- Administer recruitment processes for permanent and temporary positions, personnel movements, annual vacation selections, and all activities related to selection and onboarding;
- Manage work permits for foreign employees (renewals and TET cohorts);
- Ensure timely transmission of information to payroll and compliance with the collective agreement in day-to-day administrative practices.
HR Development, Training, and Projects
- Coordinate the planning, organization, and monitoring of training included in the skills development plan;
- Participate in initiatives to reduce absenteeism, improve occupational health and safety, and optimize internal processes;
- Assist in organizing employee activities and events according to the established calendar;
- Contribute to various corporate HR projects and perform other related tasks as required by the plant and HR team.
You are the ideal candidate if you have:

Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Relations or another relevant field;

Excellent knowledge of labor laws, labor relations, and unionized environments;
-
Proficiency in MS Office and comfort using HRIS systems;
-
Excellent oral and written communication skills (French);
-
Strong ability to work independently, manage priorities, and thrive in a constantly changing environment;
-
Strong teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders (managers, union, corporate);
-
7–10 years of relevant experience;
-
Experience in a unionized manufacturing environment;
-
Membership in the Ordre des conseillers en ressources humaines agréés (CRHA) is an asset.
