Position Overview
Our financial services client is seeking an experienced Business Systems Analyst (BSA) to conduct a current-state assessment of technology processes, tools, and controls related to system availability, capacity planning, and performance monitoring. This role will play a key part in supporting regulatory compliance, operational resilience, and technology governance initiatives across the organization.
The successful candidate will work closely with technology, risk, compliance, and business stakeholders to document current processes, identify gaps, assess alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices, and develop recommendations for improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Assess current technology processes, tools, and controls related to system availability, capacity planning, and performance management. Document current-state processes, workflows, stakeholder responsibilities, and supporting technologies. Identify compliance gaps and opportunities for process improvement. Conduct gap analysis and develop actionable recommendations. Map current practices to applicable regulatory and governance requirements, including PCI DSS, SOX, FFIEC, and Basel III. Facilitate stakeholder interviews, workshops, and requirements-gathering sessions. Partner with technology, risk, audit, and compliance teams to validate findings and recommendations. Develop remediation roadmaps with prioritized initiatives, timelines, and resource requirements. Prepare reports and presentations for leadership, governance committees, and audit stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst or similar role. Experience within large enterprise environments, preferably in financial services or banking. Strong understanding of availability management, capacity planning, and performance monitoring practices. Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Splunk, or SolarWinds. Knowledge of regulatory frameworks including PCI DSS, SOX, FFIEC, and/or Basel III. Proven experience with process mapping, requirements gathering, gap analysis, and technical documentation. Strong analytical, stakeholder management, and communication skills. Experience using reporting and data analysis tools such as Excel, Power BI, or Tableau.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field. ITIL Foundation or higher certification. CBAP, COBIT, ISO 20000, or related certifications. Previous experience supporting regulatory compliance, audit, or risk management initiatives.
