Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to support our growing team in the automotive industry in Alberta and Saskatchewan. This role will lead key HR functions including team leadership, employee relations, legal compliance, immigration, and compensation reviews.
As a trusted advisor to leaders across the business, the HR Manager will help ensure our people practices support operational excellence while reflecting our values of integrity, teamwork, innovation, excellence, and giving back.
The role will report directly to the VP of Human Resources, with dotted line reporting to the Regional VP of Operations.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
HR Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of HR professionals to deliver high-quality HR support across the organization
- Set priorities, provide guidance, and ensure consistent application of HR policies and practices
- Partner with senior leaders to align HR initiatives with business goals
Employee Relations
- Provide guidance and support on complex employee relations matters including investigations, discipline, and performance management
- Promote fair, consistent, and legally compliant workplace practices
Legal & Compliance Oversight
- Ensure HR policies, programs, and decisions align with applicable employment legislation
- Partner with legal counsel on employment-related matters when required
- Mitigate risk by ensuring proper documentation and adherence to internal policies and regulatory requirements
Immigration & Global Mobility
- Oversee immigration processes and compliance for employees requiring work authorization
- Partner with external immigration counsel and internal stakeholders to support workforce mobility
Compensation & Rewards
- Conduct compensation reviews and provide guidance on salary benchmarking, pay equity, and internal alignment
- Support annual compensation planning processes and advise leaders on competitive and equitable pay practices
Strategic HR Partnership
- Act as a trusted advisor to leaders on organizational design, workforce planning, and people strategy
- Use HR data and insights to identify trends and recommend improvements to HR programs and processes
Qualifica****tions Required
- Post-secondary degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- CHRP, CHRL, or equivalent HR designation preferred
- 7+ years of progressive HR experience, including leadership experience and team management
- Strong experience in employee relations and employment law
- Experience overseeing immigration processes and compensation reviews
- Exceptional judgment, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to navigate complex and sensitive workplace matters with professionalism, discretion and speed
- Experience with HR4 and the automotive industry considered an asset
