About the role

Tasks to be performed under this contract

  • Develop and execute a targeted outreach plan to engage new and existing private sector actors across Canada.
  • Conduct a comprehensive mapping of private sector prospects and assess current partnerships to identify opportunities for expansion and scale.
  • Strengthen and grow strategic relationships with private sector stakeholders, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities.
  • Enhance stewardship and relationship management of private sector partners in Canada, in coordination with Headquarters.

Performance indicators for the evaluation of results

  • Outreach Plan Execution: Outreach plan developed within the first two months and implemented with measurable engagement activities (e.g., number of meetings, presentations, events).

  • Mapping and Prospecting: Comprehensive mapping completed within the initial quarter, including a pipeline of new prospects and assessment of existing partnerships.

  • Resource Mobilization: Support income generation efforts as needed, including contributions to proposal development, partner engagement, or negotiations, with any impact clearly linked to the consultant’s involvement.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Strengthened relationships with key private sector stakeholders, evidenced by increased interest, engagement, and collaboration.

  • Reporting and Communication: High-quality inputs delivered for donor briefings, stewardship reports, and strategic presentations; documentation of lessons learned and recommendations.

Qualifications: Minimum of five years of progressive experience in private sector engagement, with a solid track record in securing financial support from corporations and philanthropic foundations.
Demonstrated expertise in developing and managing strategic partnerships, with deep knowledge of private sector priorities, corporate social responsibility, and recognition programs.
Proven ability to identify, cultivate, and scale private sector opportunities for both income generation and impact, including co-creating tailored partnership solutions.
Adept at working collaboratively across functions to gather insights and content, enabling the design of innovative, mission-aligned private sector initiatives.
Strong influencing and negotiation skills, with confidence in engaging senior-level stakeholders and securing high-value partnerships.
Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, including drafting donor communications, partnership proposals, and compelling value propositions.

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to align organizational priorities with partner interests and communicate complex issues in a clear, persuasive manner.
