We are currently looking for a CRGS certified Ultrasound Team Lead (Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Team Lead) to join our Savanna team. In this role, you’ll combine hands-on scanning with guiding technologists to deliver consistent, precise diagnostic imaging while keeping patients comfortable and informed. From performing routine and specialized exams to coaching team members, coordinating workflow, and supporting onboarding and training, your leadership will help maintain smooth operations and uphold quality standards. You’ll collaborate with the Clinic Coach, radiologists, and other clinic and operational teams to align practices and identify opportunities for continuous improvement. Each decision, interaction, and image you oversee will directly contribute to meaningful patient care every day.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Perform Ultrasound Exams: Conduct routine and specialized sonography imaging under the direction of Radiologists and referring Physicians, while adhering to departmental protocols and guidelines.
- Coaching and Mentorship: Coach Ultrasound Technologists at the Savanna Clinic assisting in strengthening technical and leadership abilities. Lead clinic specific training initiatives by creating and refining programs. Contribute to team performance management, using feedback from clinic leaders and other stakeholders.
- Operational Oversight: In conjunction with the Clinic Coach Savanna, Ultrasound Leadership, Operational and other Team Leads, ensure daily clinic operations run reliably by helping to develop strategic initiatives and change management efforts to implement meaningful, sustainable improvements, using data to inform decisions.
- Talent Acquisition and Retention: Contribute to talent attraction efforts for current and future Ultrasound team members. Encourage retention through leading effective onboarding, continuous development, and a focus on engagement and workplace satisfaction.
- Enhance Patient Experience: Champion a compassionate, personalized approach that encourages a seamless journey for every patient by navigating challenges with empathy and resolving obstacles that impact care.
- Provide Compassionate Care: Explain exams and procedures, address questions, ease concerns, and help patients feel comfortable.
- Collaborate with Clinic Teams: In partnership with the Clinic Coach Savanna, be the ultrasound departmental bridge with radiologists, x-ray technologist, administrative and other teams to align efforts and deliver high-quality, coordinated patient care.
- Expand Expertise: Engage in ongoing professional development to refine existing skills, build new competencies, and specialize in additional modalities such as Interventional, MSK, Breast and more.
- Uphold Standards and Compliance: Promote adherence to protocols, processes, and regulatory policies, including completion of required imaging audits, while maintaining patient safety, comfort, and privacy.
- Monitor and Troubleshoot Systems: Oversee ultrasound equipment maintenance, track equipment performance, document findings, and resolve basic issues.
- Prepare and Maintain Work Areas: Prepare and stock exam rooms for exams and procedures; report low inventory as needed.
What We’re Looking For
- Professional Membership: Active membership with Sonography Canada as a Certified Registered Generalist Sonographer.
- Ultrasound Expertise: Proficiency in diagnostic ultrasound techniques & procedures, with a focus on accuracy and detail.
- People Management Skills: Proven ability to manage performance, development, staffing, and conflict resolution.

- Specialized Knowledge: Experience in breast, MSK, OB/GYN, vascular, or cardiac ultrasound exams, or in interventional procedures, is considered an asset.
- Technology Proficiency: Experienced with Microsoft Office and patient management systems (e.g., RIS), along with an understanding of departmental equipment.
- A Compassionate Approach: A history of empathetic care, collaboration, adaptability, and flexibility.
