The BC Health Workday Program is a provincial initiative with seven participating BC health organizations (Fraser Health, Interior Health, Island Health, Northern Health, Providence Health Care, PHSA and Vancouver Coastal Health). The program began in 2023 to implement a Human Capital Management System (HCMS) software solution as part of the BC Health Human Resources Strategy to transform HR services. Designed by Workday Canada, the new provincial platform will replace existing HR and payroll systems in the health organizations with a single, unified technical system that will standardize and modernize HR and payroll services. It is a significant transformation in BC and is vital to the sustainability of BC’s health system.
Reporting to the Manager, Communications and Training, the Training Coordinator supports the design, delivery, and evaluation of training programs for the BC Health Workday program by providing essential coordination and administrative support to new program members. The Training Coordinator is responsible for scheduling training sessions, managing training logistics by security facilities and preparing both physical and technical classroom setups, supporting the development of learning materials, tracking training metrics such as attendance, completion/participation rates, user satisfaction and supporting continuous learning for system users. Working in close collaboration with change management, transformation, communications, human resources and technology teams, the Training Coordinator is privy to sensitive, confidential change information related to the system transformation.
The Training Coordinator ensures their materials and communication aligns with PHSA-wide work to eradicate Indigenous-specific racism and discrimination and embed Indigenous Cultural Safety and Humility standards across the organization.
Key Accountabilities
- Supports and coordinates the training and onboarding of new program members, including enrollment and preparation activities, from starting lineup and ongoing through the program's lifecycle through virtual, in-person and self-paced e-learning.
- Supports BC Health Workday end user training by identifying and securing local site training facilities and classrooms, ensuring required end user training accesses.
- Coordinates/sets up and prepares local training facilities and classrooms, including all physical and technical aspects, such as PC hardware/software, network connections, printers, classroom equipment and supplies, A/V equipment.
- Maintains the training calendar and ensures alignment with system updates and project milestones.
- Handles registration, tracks and report training metrics, such as attendance, completion rates, and user satisfaction.
- Assists in preparing and updating training materials such as guides, videos, quick reference sheets, FAQs and e-learning modules. Coordinates with subject matter experts and Workday functional leads to ensure training materials reflect current configurations and business processes.
Qualifications
- A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline such as Human Resources, Business Administration, Education and at least 2–4 years of experience coordinating or delivering training programs, preferably within an HR or technology context. Workday certification or HRIS training an asset.
- Familiarity with e-learning tools (Articulate, Captivate, or Workday Learning) is an asset.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and deadlines.
- Excellent communication and facilitation abilities—able to explain complex concepts clearly to non-technical users.
- Strong working knowledge of MS 365, Teams and SharePoint, Adobe Acrobat, creative programs such as Canva or Mural, database and web-based programs.
- Comfort working with data, reports and tracking systems.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to coordinate across departments. Continuous improvement mindset; seeks user feedback and adapts accordingly.

Wage: $62,239.00 to $89,469.00
The starting salary for this position would be determined with consideration of the successful candidate’s relevant education and experience and would be in alignment with the provincial compensation reference plan.
