You As The Quality Manager Will
- Provide overall quality management from preconstruction to project completion; ensure project quality objectives and requirements are communicated and understood by all relevant team members including consultants and trade partners.
- Oversee the development of project-specific quality plans for design and construction; ensure all quality plans address project requirements, are consistent with EllisDon’s quality program and best practices, and roles and responsibilities have been clearly defined.
- Proactively identify project risks and opportunities. Help develop and implement appropriate risk mitigation strategies including QA/QC measures and coordination with relevant technical resources/departments.
- Manage, review, and coordinate trade-specific Subcontractor Quality Plans (SQPs). Ensure quality control and quality assurance measures are adequate for the scope of work and address project requirements.
- Perform Subcontractor / Supplier Quality Audits to ensure the level of compliance and effectiveness of trade-specific SQPs.
- Manage, review and coordinate the development of Inspection and Testing Plans (ITPs) for construction activities. Ensure ITPs are developed and implemented effectively for all applicable scopes of work.
- Monitor execution of design and construction activities to assess compliance with respect to the quality program, project-specific quality plans, and project requirements.
- Perform Project Quality Audits and ensure appropriate audit action plans are developed and implemented.
- Develop and oversee the deficiency management process including consultant / client walkthroughs and assist with the identification, documentation, and closure of deficiencies.
- Report on the effectiveness of the quality program and project-specific quality plans identifying areas for improvement to the Area leadership and Corporate Management
- Ability to assess staffing needs & lead the hiring process and organize training assistance for colleagues
- Ability to lead the implementation of new innovations and implement them into the quality program
Is this the right role for you?
- Minimum 10 years of experience as a Quality Manager managing large-scale construction projects.
- Experience in major highway, wastewater facilities, and bridge construction projects is an asset
- Registered Professional Engineer
- ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor
- Experience developing and implementing quality plans on large-scale infrastructure projects
- Firm understanding of local codes and standards relevant to civil and commercial infrastructure projects
- Exceptional time management, leadership skills, and detail oriented
- Excellent communicator and demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple scope simultaneously.
