Position Overview
The primary role of the Courseware Developer/Maintainer is to create Lesson Plans and the supporting material required to successfully run Canadian Forces School of Military Intelligence (CFSMI) sponsored courses. The essential tasks of the Courseware Developer/Maintainer are to plan and create assigned courseware. Courseware Developer/Maintainers are associated with a specific environment or specialty which reflects their experience based expertise.

Specific tasks may include but not limited to:
- Read and understand the material provided, in the form of a ‘read in package’ or briefing, delivered by CFSMI Officer Commanding of Standards & Development, Officer-in-Charge Development or designate, prior to commencement of developing a course;
- Participate, based on their environment or specialty, in the QS and TP Boards;
- Review and fully understand the TP for the course which they are assigned to create;
- Employ new and innovative training approaches to the development, production, and maintenance of Lesson Plans, TUTEXs, ECs, and Field and Static Exercises;
- Employ new and innovative training approaches to the development, production, and maintenance of: Draft PCs, which will be validated by Standards; Draft PC rewrites, which will be validated by Standards; and Draft Marking Guides, which will be validated by Standards.
- Maintain security and control of any CFSMI issued IT including computers, USB sticks, and access to IT systems.
- Back up developed courseware on the CFSMI or Unit/Organization issued IT including computers and USB;
- Send completed products to the Team Lead for posting onto the appropriate SharePoint site;
- Liaise directly with other Courseware Developer/Maintainer and Team Lead in order to establish best practices as well as to de-conflict and streamline training;
- Create courseware based on the direction provided in the TP;
- Identify problem areas such as time allotted to lesson/TUTEXs and initiate recommended changes through the Team Lead;
- Participate in meetings and O-Groups as part of End of Course Review or adhoc courseware maintenance processes;
- As directed, modify courseware in accordance with direction contained in the associated End of Course Review / Lesson Plan Amendment Requests;
- Seek out new and updated reference documentation to support requested courseware changes;
- Identify problem areas such as time allotted associated with changes to courseware
Mandatory Requirements:
Must have the following military experience:
- Employment in a CAF military Intelligence position;
- Deployment experience, domestic or expeditionary, in a military Intelligence function; and
- Employment within an Intelligence team.
- Any AJES (QL6A LAND), AJET (QL6A AIR), AJER (QL6A SEA), AAGX (QL6A SEA), AJEL (BIOC SEA), AJEM (BIOC LAND), or AJEN (BIOC AIR) qualification;
- Any AIPB (BMOQ), AIOX (BMOQ LAND), AINR (PLQ Common), or AHCH (Basic Instructional techniques) qualification;
AND
- Must be able to obtain a Federal Government of Canada Security Clearance at the Level II Secret level
- Must have a valid passport
