Key Responsibilities
About The Position RWDI is seeking an energetic and motivated Intermediate Scientist/Engineer to join our Environmental Noise & Vibration team in Ontario. This role supports clients across the buildings, infrastructure, and industrial sectors.
The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of relevant field experience, with a strong background in environmental permitting and the land use planning process in Ontario. Depending on experience, the successful candidate may also be considered for a supervisory position within the Environmental Noise & Vibration team.
The Role Includes, But Is Not Limited To
- Take a client-focused approach, using your technical expertise to support the success of client projects.
- Execute field monitoring programs and ensure accurate data collection and analysis.
- Prepare detailed noise propagation models to support project assessments.
- Develop comprehensive reports to support land use planning, EASR, and ECA submissions.
- Contribute to environmental assessment studies and documentation.
Practitioners within the Environmental Noise & Vibration team are purely technical specialists — this role does not involve direct project management. However, there are significant opportunities to build strong client relationships and collaborate closely with RWDI’s project management team.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
We are accepting applications from candidates with the following qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant engineering discipline, with eligibility for P.Eng registration with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Environmental Noise and Vibration.
- Candidates without P.Eng eligibility but with strong relevant experience may also be considered.
- Availability to work in person at our Guelph, Toronto, Ottawa, or Windsor office.
- Valid driver’s license required.
The Environmental Noise & Vibration team is a close-knit, social team where people love what they do. Team members work independently daily to contribute to the success of the team’s work. The successful applicant will demonstrate strong collaboration, people, and teamwork skills as well ability to prioritize and complete work independently. Individuals within this high-performing team must manage their time carefully and balance work for several ongoing projects simultaneously.
