Our Automation division provides a different dimension to the traditional integrators of automated equipment. AV Gauge & Automation provides custom automation equipment to OEMs, tier 1 and tier 2 suppliers, using the most modern technologies and engineering software. We focus on core manufacturing principles and forward thinking to ensure all customer expectations for productivity, maintenance and safety are met.

Summary:
Under the supervision of the Automation Engineering Manager, the incumbent will develop concepts and detailing for custom automated equipment. The incumbent will be tasked with 3D modeling, 2D detailing and generating BOM’s and supporting documents.

Job Terms:
Permanent, Full Time.

Responsibilities:

  • Design automation and assembly equipment
  • Produce detail prints and assembly drawings
  • Generate fully detailed BOMs
  • Write equipment manuals, maintenance schedules and reports
  • Perform FEA, as well as machine, process and robotic simulations
  • Support the assembly and controls departments through the build and debug stages of development
  • Ensure compliance with the customer health & safety regulations, quality standards and other specifications
  • Maintain budgetary and timing targets

Qualifications:

  • Technical school graduate or equivalent experience in an industrial manufacturing setting
  • Proficiency in MS Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), 3D modeling (SOLIDWORKS) and 2D detailing (AutoCAD)
  • Knowledge of ANSI drawing standards and GD&T
  • Strong mechanical and machine building aptitude
  • Knowledge of pneumatic, electric and hydraulic propulsion systems
  • Robust analytical thinking and trouble shooting skills
  • 5+ years designing automation equipment is recommended
