Role Description This full-time hybrid role, based in Ontario, combines NDE Inspector UT Level 2 responsibilities with business development activities, with some work-from-home flexibility. On a day-to-day basis, the NDE Inspector will perform ultrasonic testing and other non-destructive examinations on components and structures, interpret and document inspection results, and ensure compliance with applicable standards and client specifications. The role includes supporting quality control programs, preparing inspection reports, and collaborating with engineering teams to address technical issues. On the business development side, the individual will require fluent mastery of Polish language to support FFTC’s business development efforts attempting to establish engineering and technical support contracts in Poland’s developing nuclear new build industry. The individual will be involved in supporting proposal preparation, participating in meetings and presentations, and helping to build and maintain strong potential customer relationships. The individual will also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and uphold health, safety, and environmental practices.
Experience
Field experience in inspections of nuclear components, specializing in deployment of ultrasonic testing equipment. Field experience in working in high radioactive fields, specifically in close proximity to nuclear reactor face, ideally including experience in acquiring measurements of thickness of CANDU nuclear reactor feeder piping. Experience in training coordination of personnel for preparation for nuclear power plant inspection outages Strong grasp and experience in practical application of nuclear industry human performance tools such as Core 4 and STAR. Fluent knowledge of Polish language, both written and spoken, strongly preference for a native speaker/writer Firsthand knowledge and experience of Polish geopolitical profile.
Qualifications
NDE Inspector certificate – UT level 1 Native level spoken and written Polish – post secondary education in Poland highly preferred Acceptance of working in highly radioactive fields and receiving yearly dose uptakes of up to 1000mRem when performing nuclear power plant inspection work. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of applications. Active Bruce Power Security Clearance allowing for immediate deployment for outage support. The position will require about 80% travel to support inspection and maintenance outages at the Bruce Power Nuclear Power Plant located in Tiverton ON.
