Job Opportunity: Psychotherapist Position Overview An Exciting Psychotherapist Career at Boomerang Health We are seeking a dynamic and passionate psychotherapist to join our dedicated team. This position offers a unique opportunity for an individual who is enthusiastic about working in paediatrics, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and has a strong desire for professional growth and skill development.

We are looking for a psychotherapist who is interested in providing intervention for a broad range of mental health conditions present in a pediatric population. A strong applicant is high energy, has a positive attitude, and has a passion for helping children and families. Responsibilities

  • Provide psychosocial assessments and case formulation to children and adolescents experiencing a wide range of behavioural, socioemotional and mental health challenges
  • Responsible for providing individual, group and/or family therapy
  • Comfortable working with caregivers to provide dynamic interventions
  • Able to provide consultation and recommendations to families, and liaise with referring physicians, Boomerang Health clinicians, school staff and other relevant agencies
  • Follow an evidence-based approach to intervention
  • Manage a varied caseload and meet required timelines
  • Maintain complete and accurate medical records using the Electronic Medical Record system
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • M.A. or Ph.D. from a recognized training program of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.
  • Course work and previous clinical experience in working with children, adolescents, and families
  • Knowledge of child and adolescent psychosocial development and psychopathology

Experience/Skills

  • Experience in working with paediatric mental health concerns
  • Collaborate effectively with members of a multidisciplinary team and work independently
  • Utilize critical thinking and problem-solving skills in various situations
  • Proficient in evidence-based approach to intervention
  • Maintain a high attention to detail in all aspects of work
  • Exhibit excellent oral and written communication skills in English
  • Interact effectively with children and adults, utilizing excellent interpersonal skills
  • Manage time efficiently and demonstrate strong organizational skills
  • Demonstrate grit and adaptability in challenging situations
  • Experience with virtual platforms
