The Customer Service Representative is the first point of contact for clients requesting services through Access PEI. This position provides quality service to the public relating to programs of a variety of provincial government departments and agencies.
Duties will include but are not limited to:
- Issue new identification cards, drivers’ licenses and applications for permits such as fishing and hunting licenses;
- Book appointments and courses (road tests, written tests, driving courses);
- Capture client photos and electronic signatures (Gemalto system or similar);
- Apply sales tax and tax exemptions;
- Issue duplicate registrations, licenses, permits and identification cards;
- Exchange out of province/country registrations licenses permits for PEI equivalent;
- Providing services relating to programs of provincial government departments and agencies;
- Balancing cash, cheques, credit cards and debit cards on a daily basis by department;
- Prepare daily reports and forward to SWAT administrator and other departments as required (i.e. Property tax, Tourism payments etc.)
- Assist clients in completing forms accurately and obtaining necessary signatures;
- Collecting and forwarding information for Provincial Government departments and agencies;
- Providing assistance to fellow staff members on new and changing policies and procedures as needed;
- Other related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Applicants must have Grade 12 or equivalent supplemented by completion of a related diploma, such as office studies OR business OR completion of other related post-secondary programs;
- Must have experience in a related customer service position;
- Advanced oral proficiency in French and English required;
- Should have recent cash handling experience;
- Demonstrated equivalencies will be considered;
- Applicants must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills;
- Must also possess excellent time management and organizational skills as well as the ability to deliver quality service to clients;
- Must have basic computer knowledge and word processing;
- The successful applicant must provide a satisfactory current Criminal Records Check, prior to beginning employment.
- The successful applicant must qualify for appointment as a Commission of Oaths and Marriage Commissioner;
- Applicants must have a good previous work and attendance record.

- Additional relevant education and experience will be considered an asset.
