Who we need
Reporting to the Laboratory Supervisor, Organic Processing, we are hiring Lab Technicians to join our Organic Processing team in Mississauga. As our new Lab Technician, you will play an essential role in supporting the day-to-day operations of our laboratory, ensuring environmental samples are received, prepared, processed, and documented accurately and on time. Working in a fast-paced, physically active laboratory environment, you will follow established procedures, maintain quality standards, and contribute to delivering reliable testing services for our clients.
This is an existing opportunity based in our Mississauga laboratory. Standard working hours are either 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. or 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and flexibility to work either shift is required.

How you will make an impact
Process laboratory samples. You will receive, sort, distribute, prepare, weigh, and process samples according to established Standard Operating Procedures while ensuring accuracy, quality, and timely completion of work. Maintain quality and safety standards. You will follow laboratory safety protocols, use appropriate personal protective equipment, maintain Good Housekeeping practices, and ensure all work meets Bureau Veritas quality requirements and audit standards. Manage priorities. You will use laboratory systems, including LIMS and SAIL, to organize your workload, respond to changing priorities, and meet turnaround times for routine and rush samples. Support laboratory operations. You will assist with basic analysis, maintain accurate records, collaborate with team members to improve workflow efficiency, and provide support across the department as operational needs evolve.
What you bring
The laboratory foundation. You have gained knowledge of laboratory practices through your education, training, or practical experience. Experience in Chemistry or Environmental Science is preferred, and candidates with related scientific backgrounds will also be considered. The attention to detail. You work carefully and consistently, following procedures accurately while maintaining high standards of quality, documentation, and organization. The adaptability. You enjoy working in an environment where priorities can change throughout the day. You can manage multiple tasks, stay organized under pressure, and consistently meet deadlines. The teamwork. You communicate effectively, work well with others, and contribute positively to a collaborative laboratory environment. You bring a dependable work ethic, accountability, and a willingness to learn. The physical capability. You are comfortable working in a physically active role that involves standing and moving throughout your shift, performing repetitive tasks, and regularly lifting and moving materials weighing up to 40 pounds.
