Salary : This position has a salary range of $104,200.00 to $127, 500.00, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Hours of Work : 36 hours per week

The Director, Service Delivery oversees operations across Alberta, including Edmonton, Calgary, and Red Deer. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this role ensures operational excellence through strong leadership, strategic planning, and ongoing improvement. The Director develops and executes strategies that drive positive client outcomes, effective programs, and strong partnerships with key stakeholders.
The ideal candidate is an experienced leader who balances strategic vision with operational execution, ensuring consistency, quality, and innovation across all service areas while fostering collaboration and growth across regional teams.
The Director also serves as a key external representative of the organization, engaging in regional and local governance and planning committees. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, partner organizations, and government funders, the Director builds relationships to enhance service delivery practices, share emerging trends, and identify opportunities for improvement.
Core Areas of Responsibility
Leadership This role leads the development and implementation of strategies that motivate and engage employees while fostering cohesive, high-performing teams. You will coach and support direct reports, set clear performance standards, and use data and feedback to drive ongoing improvement.
The Director oversees hiring, onboarding, and performance management within their teams and supports leadership development and professional growth across the organization. As a member of the Executive Committee, this role contributes to organizational priorities, workforce planning, and initiatives that strengthen Open Door Group’s culture of inclusion, service excellence, and collaboration.
Service Delivery Leadership This role defines the vision and direction for service delivery across Alberta, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and funder expectations. You will lead budget development, workforce planning, and resource allocation to maintain operational excellence and deliver exceptional client outcomes.
As a subject matter expert in client engagement and service quality, you will apply data, insights, and best practices to strengthen program effectiveness and innovation. The Director also champions diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, leads strategic projects, and collaborates with internal teams on business planning, accreditation, and continuous improvement efforts.
Stakeholder Engagement & Development This role strengthens partnerships with service delivery agencies, government stakeholders, and community organizations to advance organizational and funder goals. You will represent Open Door Group at executive-level governance meetings, providing insights into performance and strategic direction.
The successful candidate will also support contract and funding opportunities by contributing to RFP responses and identifying new sources of funding. Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal teams, government representatives, and industry peers is key to enhancing awareness of our services and expanding our impact.

What you bring to the position:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Social Science, or similar.
- 7-10 years’ recent, relevant experience
In addition, the ideal candidate will bring the following experience and capabilities:
Service Delivery & Community Engagement
- Demonstrated success in leading high-performing teams within a service delivery environment.
- Experience developing and implementing community-based programs or services.
Equity, Inclusion & Cultural Competence
- An understanding of global IDEA challenges, best practices, trends and legislation in different geographies and cultures.
- Demonstrated cultural competence, including the ability to engage effectively with diverse individuals and communities, foster inclusion, and address systemic inequities.
- Understanding of the Human Rights Code and relevant laws.
Communication & Interpersonal Skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively and diplomatically with colleagues, government officials, and community stakeholders.
- Strong presentation skills, with comfort speaking to large groups both in-person and virtually.
- Ability to write clear, concise reports and professional communications.
- Comfortable using modern digital tools, including AI, CRM platforms, and Microsoft Office 365 applications.
Strategic Thinking, Planning & Problem Solving
- Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills with a focus on results.
- Ability to identify challenges, develop creative solutions, and support effective conflict resolution.
- Sound judgment and decision-making in dynamic, multi-stakeholder environments.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects and programs, balance multiple priorities, and deliver high-quality results on time.
- Experience developing and managing budgets effectively.
Special Conditions of Employment:
- Required to pass a criminal history background check and/or fingerprinting
- Must be able to work flexible hours
- Must have the ability to work on a computer for extended hours at a time
- Travel within British Columbia may be required
