Ex Nihilo Vineyards Okanagan Valley Inc. is an established vineyard and winery operating in Lake Country, BC. Ex Nihilo is a privately held company owned by the Azhadi Group, a group of companies which develops and operates wineries and vineyards throughout the Okanagan Valley.

Position Summary
Wine Experience Associates play a vital role in delivering an exceptional guest experience, embodying the warmth and hospitality of Ex Nihilo. This position requires a knowledgeable and engaging individual who can educate guests on our wines, guide them through tastings, and drive sales while maintaining the highest service standards. The Associate will work closely with the hospitality team, ensuring seamless service in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, including regular service and special events.
Key Responsibilities
- Host engaging, informative tastings that embody Ex Nihilos hospitality philosophy.
- Share product knowledge, winemaking insights, food pairings and estate stories in an approachable way.
- Promote wine sales and club memberships through authentic, relationship-driven conversations.
- Maintain polished presentation of all guest spaces, merchandise, and glassware.
- Support special events, private tastings, and off-site activations when required.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen and support staff to facilitate seamless food and beverage service.
- Participate in team education, service training, and continuous learning initiatives.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of hospitality, tourism, or retail experience in a guest-facing role.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; natural storyteller.
- Serving It Right certification (required before start date).
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs.
- Availability on weekends, holidays, and event days.
- Belief in core management principles: communicate, lead, achieve, delegate, improve, mentor and inspire others.
- Ability to create genuine connections through confident, conversational hosting.
- Experience with core principles of wine service, tasting etiquette, and retail presentation.
- Ability to multitask gracefully in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment.
##Compensation:
*The typical hiring range for this position is from $18.75-20.00 per hour, the hourly rate offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experiences, and internal equity.*Also eligible for gratuity and additional bonuses.
