In addition to producing bulk canola oil and meal, our food products division produces a wide variety of canola-based margarines, oils, and shortenings for the industrial, retail and foodservice markets. Working with Richardson opens to door to a world of possibility. We currently have an opportunity for an Operations Supervisor at our Lethbridge, AB location.
Responsibilities
Supervise daily operations within the Oilseed Processing area, including the direct oversight of unionized employees. Achieve the department's goals and objectives, ensuring compliance with all Environmental, Health & Safety, and Company regulations. Implement operational procedures effectively to ensure the daily production schedule is executed safely, with minimal non-conformance and business interruptions. Provide effective leadership to department teams and contribute positively to continuous improvement initiatives. Administer the time and attendance payroll system in compliance with Company Policy and the Collective Agreement. Participate in team meetings, workshops, and the development of departmental goals and objectives. Be part of the “on-call” rotation for after-hours support.
Qualifications
Post-secondary education or a minimum of 4–5 years of previous supervisory experience in manufacturing, preferably in oilseed/food processing within a unionized environment Experience implementing policy & procedures Knowledge of Health & Safety legislative requirement Excellent written, verbal, documentation, and computer skills Capable of conducting conflict resolution and disciplinary meetings Proficient in coaching and mentoring team members Strong time management skills Richardson International provides an excellent compensation package consisting of competitive salary, pension, a flexible benefits plan and training and career development opportunities.
