Position overview
We have a full-time permanent opportunity for an Intermediate Accountant in the Finance Department. Reporting to the Assistant Controller, the successful candidate will be responsible for the preparation, analysis, and monitoring of operating expenditures and related financial accounts.
The role supports accurate financial reporting and effective financial management by performing month-end accounting activities, analyzing variances, and providing accounting insight and advisory support to management and the FP&A team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Work with Accounts Payable, FP&A, and budget holders to identify and analyze unbilled or unprocessed expenses and prepare accruals in accordance with applicable GAAP.
- Support period-end close activities, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial results
- Prepare detailed analysis of operating expenditures to support management understanding of financial performance.
- Ensure accounting results are clearly understood and appropriately reflected in management reporting.
- Support Finance transformation initiatives, system enhancements, and process automations related to operating expenditures.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve system or data issues affecting financial reporting.
- Provide guidance to budget holders on financial results and accounting treatment of contractual requirements.
Key qualifications include:
- 2-3 years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate or public-sector environment supplemented by a bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or Accounting.
- CPA designation or similar practical experience.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with multiple budget holders and clearly articulate financial topics to business
- Experience with period-end close, business partnering, reconciliations, and financial analysis.
- Strong knowledge of financial and managerial accounting principles.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and financial reporting tools
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills
Although not required, French language skills are an asset as we are committed to providing bilingual services to our visitors and passengers. This helps us meet federal language obligations while ensuring welcoming experience. Candidates who do not speak French are still strongly encouraged to apply.

Salary Range : $75,766 to $99,027 per annum, based on a 37.5-hour work week. This is individually tailored to reflect your unique experience, qualifications and internal equity.
