We are presently seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Project Scheduler to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and analyzing project schedules to ensure the successful delivery of programs that are on scope, on time, and within budget. Collaborating closely with project management, engineers and cross-functional teams, you will play a pivotal role in tracking progress, mitigating risks, and delivering data-driven insights to meet organizational and customer requirements. This position will be located at our offices in either Calgary, Alberta or Ottawa, Ontario.

Responsibilities

Develop, maintain, and update an Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) to align with program objectives, milestones, and deliverables. Collaborate with project management, engineers, and cross-functional teams to define project tasks, timelines, dependencies, and resource requirements. Monitor schedule performance and progress, identifying risks, delays, and opportunities for schedule optimization. Support risk management activities by proactively identifying potential issues, forecasting delays, and recommending corrective actions or schedule adjustments. Conduct risk assessments, including the preparation and execution of Monte Carlo simulations to evaluate schedule reliability. Provide regular updates to project management and stakeholders on schedule status, changes, and any potential issues. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate updates to schedules and related documentation. Prepare and distribute progress reports, dashboards, and other relevant metrics to leadership and stakeholders. Assist with various ad hoc project management tasks to ensure program success.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field (or equivalent training and experience). 3 years of experience in program or project scheduling, preferably within an aerospace, defense, or engineering environment. Proficiency in scheduling tools such as Microsoft Project, Primavera, or similar software. Strong understanding of scheduling principles, including Critical Path Method (CPM), Earned Value Management (EVM), and dependency management. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, data visualization tools, and other relevant software. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate across diverse teams and organizational levels. Certification in scheduling or project management such as PMI Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP), or Project Management Professional (PMP) is desirable. Familiarity with ForProject and Barbecana Full Monte is a plus. Knowledge of government contracting and defense industry standards is an asset. Bilingual in French and English is an asset.

The successful candidate will be required to complete a criminal background check and obtain/maintain a Government of Canada security clearance and any applicable clearances with respect to the handling and transfer of controlled goods.
