How You'll Perform the Role

Under the supervision of the Distribution Manager, the Warehouse Supervisor must ensure, according to established work methods and in collaboration with the team in place, to supervise, coordinate and control the daily receiving, storage and shipping activities of the main warehouse in Kirkland. Ensure the accuracy of deliveries, according to established dates, in conjunction with the "sales support" team and in an efficient manner.

  • Plans and supervises the execution of the day-to-day operations of the distribution centre (receiving, warehousing and shipping) through the efficient use of existing human and material resources.

  • Ensures that all orders are shipped to the specifications and on the required dates.

  • Ensures that the products shipped are in excellent condition and packaged properly.

  • Continuous improvement; Propose new methods of optimizing operations to improve performance, quality and safety.

  • Maintains collaboration with the various sectors of the company in order to achieve objectives and ensure customer satisfaction.

  • Ensures optimal management of the supply of CHEP pallets for the factory and warehouse by maintaining the lowest possible inventory.

  • Supervises, trains, develops versatility and develops warehouse staff.

  • Respects and ensures that personnel in their sector comply with the company's standards and policies as well as health and safety requirements (CNESST).

  • Helps train and ensure forklift driver certifications are up to date.

  • Assistance in the selection of work tools and equipment, to ensure and improve the efficiency and proper functioning of the distribution center.

  • Performs various types of inspections to equipment, buildings and personnel

  • Ensures that equipment is in good condition and operating safely.

  • BRC Standards; Inspects, documents and follows up while enforcing requirements.

  • Ensures, through his actions, the protection and security of the company's assets.

  • Ensures sound management of inventory and cycle counts of inventory.

  • Plan and prioritize the flow of goods transfers between Polar Pak Montreal warehouses.

  • Arranges appointments with road carriers for delivery to the warehouse if necessary.

  • Oversee the day-to-day tasks of tracking and updating container movements, close receiving documents (physical and electronic) and attach them to the system.

  • Electronically scan and attach bills of lading.

  • Execute various inventory transactions to the IFS system

  • Manage multiple emails per day.

  • Participates in the Food Defense Committee.

  • Participates in the health and safety meeting

  • As well as any other job-related tasks.

What We Need From You

Qualifications

  • College education related to operations and logistics management or equivalent relevant experience;

  • 5 years or more of experience in warehouse or logistics supervision;

  • Forklift operator competency card is an asset.

  • Proficiency in WMS, ERP and Microsoft office IT tools;

  • Know the use of scanners in warehousing and order preparation

  • Fluency in English and French, both written and spoken

  • Ability to supervise unionized staff.

  • Ability to work under pressure.

  • Working knowledge of the equipment used in the warehouse.
